I love that line Mongo! I assigned the wav file of "What a dump!" for the "exclamation" sound event on my computer! Actually all of my sound events are classic movie lines. Okay, I'm gonna give this one a go.... Hint#1: A sketch artist -

Katherine Hepburn was NOT a Great Actress

**** Mongo! Amen to that! -
Well, having 3 son's I was forced to see the Adam Sandler version (his movies are right up my pre-teen boy's perspective alleys *lol*). I will admit I found myself laughing more than once....most likely because my boys and I have a great time watching movies together and when one of them starts laughin' the next thing I know I'm laughin' along with 'em. BUT, the Sandler version in no way changed my opinion of the original in the least. Apples and oranges really....

I also think Meryl Streep is an outstanding actress. Problem is my husband DESPISES (can't really tell me why) her so every time I want to watch a movie with her in it I have to watch it in another room or when he's out at a gig. It's interesting to me how people's opinions can vary so greatly. Just take this thread for example. As I stated earlier -- although Katharine Hepburn isn't my favorite actress, I still do think she had A LOT of talent. Some seem to have the same opinion of her as my husband does of Streep. Oh well, if we all felt the same way about everything it would be an awfully boring world. Or, one of my favorites -- Opinions are like assholes....everybody's got one -

Moira, I also enjoy this game very much. I've just had a very busy weekend so I haven't had more than five minutes at a shot to sit down at the computer. As to your clues.....I'm not quite sure yet. I'll be thinkin' about it. -
I was just reading through the posts and found myself saying things like "definitely - No doubt about it - Yup"...etc. (out loud I must add -- have no problem admittin' I talk to myself) many times. So this one is basically gonna be an "I agree" post..... Dustin Hoffman for "The Graduate" James Mason for "Lolita" Jane Wyman for "Johnny Belinda" Patty Duke for "The Miracle Worker" Roddy McDowall for "How Green Was My Valley" Donald Crisp for "How Green Was My Valley" Yul Brenner for "The King and I" Hattie McDaniel for "Gone With the Wind" Claude Rains for "Notorious" Edna May Oliver for "David Copperfield" Lucile Watson for "Waterloo Bridge"

How weird, ML! My mom & I were talking about the Stanwyck/Cooper dilemma and we finally came up with "Ball of Fire" for Stanwyck & "Friendly Persuasion" for Coop as our favorites!! Even stranger, we also talked about how "High Noon" was probably Coop's greatest role!!
-
A few more.... Henry Fonda -- "The Grapes of Wrath" Rosalind Russell -- "Picnic" Elizabeth Taylor -- "Raintree County" David Niven -- "Bachelor Mother" Marlon Brando -- "A Streetcar Named Desire" Ingrid Bergman -- "Notorious" Still havin' a problem deciding what my favorite Stanwyck & Cooper roles are!!
