  1. Well, I'll start a round if anyone feels like playin'. Hint#1: Cowardice
  2. If I remember correctly during one of the Frankenstein movie's credits it said something like "The Monster.....?". I forgot about the blasted mermaid...argh. Think ya might have it mongo; but I still can't see where England comes in.
  3. I was going to mention a VERY similar movie, mongo; but I just can't seem to tie in England & mermaid...hmmmm
  4. Well, I definitely need another hint so I'll just give it a go with Bridget Jones's Diary (?)
  5. I would have to say my "guilty pleasure" is watching horror movies. From the original Frankenstein to Silence of the Lambs....if it's spooky, macabre, etc. I'll be watchin' with my hands up to my face peakin' through my fingers!!
  6. Had a strong feeling that was it. Kept runnin' back to the puter to see if I got it while I was tryin' to make dinner.....lol. Anyway, here goes.... Hint#1: drifter
  7. I was thinking it was The Emperor Waltz starring Bing and Joan Fontaine (don't think there's an "s" on the end) too slnt291....but that was in color, not b&w. I do believe the title song is in it though...
  8. Not sute about this....Marie Antoinette? Sure were decapitations, wigs & lots of jewelry!
  9. Mornin' stlgal! I know this isn't probably right, but I'll give it a go anyway... Is it The Affairs of Cellini?
  10. Man! This is a tough one!! Been tryin' to figure it out since last night...argh. You are doin' great with this one venerados!
  11. Can't thank you guys enough for the recommendations. I'm happy to announce that I found a few of the books on ebay. Each for a GREAT price! My mom, grandma & aunt are also classic movie lovers...so not only are ya helping me find a good book for myself, you are helping me out with my Christmas shopping!
  12. Well Path, I'm an idiot...it's official. I meant Madame Bovary....not The Heiress.
  13. WELL, sounds like someone forgot to take their meds today
  14. Well, I gotta say I got a good chuckle out of reading these posts. Rogan, it's like you are just askin' for an argument in here. Ya can't TELL people what to do like that...we all have different likes and dislikes and that should be respected. I WOULD be watching TCM tonight if it wasn't for the fact that I'm going out for the evening. And as far as the Technicolor thing goes....I think we all read ya loud and clear. No need to beat a dead horse.
  15. Okay...I'll go ahead then. Hint#1: A "dandy" in CA
  16. Been sittin' here awhile waiting to play. Anyone mind if I go ahead and start a round?
  17. OMG!! I just realized that not only did I type the wrong person's name in that post I misspelled Hedy Lamarr's name!! Obviously got up on the "stupid" side of the bed today!!
  18. Drat! Screwed up my last post. Got your names messed up.....lol. Should have typed moviejoe when mentioning the ebay-used bookstore thing. OOPS!!
  19. Thanks so much for replying to my post. I've just written down the titles and plan on looking into them right away. Oh, and I agree with you coffeedan that ebay, used bookstores etc. are great places to look for this type of book; but since so many of you seem so knowledgeable on the classics and the classic stars I really wanted an opinion from you guys before I went out on my trek. I'll also keep what ya said about Hedy Lammar in mind antarctic
