Well....looks like I'm talkin' to myself in here

Hint#4:
Attempted murder by a nobleman
-
Was browsin' through "old" topics and I figured I'd contribute to this one...
South Pacific ~ Just love this one! When ever Rossano Brazzi belt's out with "Some enchanted evening...." (his singing is dubbed in by Giorgio Tozzi btw) I'm always singin' along with him....and glad no one hears me

West Side Story ~ Oh great, now the Jet song is gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of the day....lol
My Fair Lady ~ Been a fav of mine since I was a kid.
Meet Me in St. Louis ~ I heard that Vincente Minnelli (director) didn't think Margaret O'Brien was being convincing enough in that "bashing snowmen" scene so he pulled her aside and told her that her dog had died!! Well, when she did the scene over she REALLY was upset!! Nice guy...

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers ~ Okay....totally corn-ball but I like it (one of those "guilty pleasures"...hehehe).
Gigi ~ Love the song "I Remember It Well". Maurice Chevalier....talk about a dirty old man!!
-
Okay...here's another one~

Hey everybody! I was out all mornin'/afternoon shoppin'. Took FOREVER 'cause I've had the flu for the past week and haven't picked up anything and my three sons and husband ate everything in the house (thought they were gonna start gnawin' on the furniture next
). ANYWAY... I'm back now, drinkin' a cup of tea and wrapped in a blanket (still feel like crap
) tryin' to figure out stlgal's clues. Think I might have an idea but since both you guys guessed I'll wait for another clue. -
Well I certainly don't know what it is. Been waitin' all day for someone to get this one. Sounds good though...
-

Same here path. Tried antar's way and it worked for awhile then crapped out. Bummer. Anyhoo...don't think I've seen the movie you are giving clues for; but I'll guess Houseboat although I think there were 2 boys and a girl...hmmm

X-( ARGH!!! I was havin' all kinds of trouble with this site yesterday! I got in twice using IE then every time I tried I kept gettin' the error message I mentioned earlier in the thread so I gave up and followed path's advice and went ahead and downloaded the newest version of Netscape. So far so good and (crossin' my fingers) I've never seen my internet connection fly so fast. Now I have to figure out the Netscape thing. Tabs?? What the ?? IE didn't have those suckers. OH, and this site still logs me out at a drop of a hat. Anyway, after all that rantin' I forgot about your clues path...I'll post this and go back and look at 'em again....lol.

Yes Path...it was The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. SOOO sorry it took so long to let you know! I've been trying to log on to this site for almost an hour now and couldn't. Kept getting an error message - "Internet Explorer Cannot Open Internet Site http://.....Operation Aborted". ARGH!!!! Finally I dumped my temp. internet files and I could get on. Weird. Anyway...good job, and it looks like it's your turn now!

Oops! Scratch The Old Red House....should be The Red House!
-
I've always been a fan of Edward G. myself. Two of my favorite movies of his are The Old Red House & Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (although that scene in O.V.H.T.G. with the burning/screaming cows REALLY upset me....was anyone as bothered by that as me??). As far as I know one of the reasons Edward G. didn't get the recognition he should of was because he was blacklisted by the McCarthy witchhunt....branded as a communist sympathizer. When I saw that there was a post about Edward G. I had to chuckle 'cause it reminded me immediately of when my eldest son was born. When the doctor handed him to me for the first time the first thing I said was "Holy sh*t! He looks like Edward G. Robinson!!!". I guess that's an example of how first time mothers assume their newborn babies will be just beautiful and a lot of the time are in for a big shock. My son is now 13 and doesn't resemble Edward G. in the slightest...lol.
-
Ya left classics?? Bummer. OH, and it's not Moby Dick b.t.w. Well I'll throw out another clue for anyone who happens to be around...
Hint#4:
NO love at first sight
-
Drat! Have to run to my son's school with his lunch. The kid would forget his head if it wasn't stuck on..hehehe. Back in a little while!
-
Nope! Not it!
Hint#3:
A handsome captain
-
Yes, any old movie afficionado would love On Borrowed Time. Great part played by Lionel Barrymore! Don't you just love how by playing this game you find out about movies you never might have known about! It's happened to me more than once. Oh, and you haven't gotten it yet so here's another clue....
Hint#2:
Nom de plume
-
Had a feeling that was it! Yes, that was a great one and you are certainly right about the mother's part! My turn now...so off we go!
Hint#1:
a seaside house
-
Is it Sergeant York?
-
For another hint I'll just guess Shepherd of the Hill (?)

Your Favorite Movie Lines
in Your Favorites
Posted
OH...I was so happy to find this post! I just love famous movie lines, and I thought I'd share a few of my all time favorites!
The Godfather:
"Leave the gun....take the cannoli"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prissy to Scarlett in Gone with the Wind:
"Lawdy, we got to have a doctor, I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The littlest Kidnappers:
"You got a lot 'o good fat on ya *baby" (*pronounced baaby)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The dad (Darren McGavin ) in Christmas Story:
"Notafinga!"
"Fra-geel-ay... it must be Italian."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver:
"You talkin' to me?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This one was mentioned before; but it?s one of my favorites too so I feel it deserves another mention?..
Wizard of Oz:
Cowardly Lion: Courage! What makes a king out of a slave? Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage! What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder? Courage! What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage! What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the "ape" in apricot? What have they got that I ain't got?
All: Courage!
Ghost Breakers starring Bob Hope:
Pardon me, am I protruding?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All for now....I'm sure that I'll think of a few more later!
