Thanks, fredbaetz - that's it - it's taxing trying to remember some of these titles -

I am trying to remember the name of a movie about a very rich man who married a young woman after the drowning death of his first wife. He brings the new wife back to his mansion where the servants revered his first wife, especially the maid and the new wife is forbidden in the first wife's area of the house. The house catches fire and burns to the ground in the end. I think the mansion was named Mandolay - not to be confused with movie of same name - Quite suspenful - black and white movie -
