  1. WOW ! I actually got the December Now Playing Guide today in my E-mail, with no hassles ! There really is a Santa Claus !
  2. Well, I didn't get it again, for the second month in a row. Is it just me ?
  3. No, it is never in spam. If it comes, it is in my inbox. Otherwise, it just doesn't come at all. In fact, the mid-month update hasn't shown up either, this month.......
  4. The worst thing TCM ever did was to drop the paper version of the Now Playing Guide. That was my bible. Now, sometimes I get the e-mail guide, sometimes I don't. So, sometimes I watch movies on TCM, and sometimes I don't.....................
  5. The channel looks better today, so hopefully things will be 100% fixed shortly !
  6. Thanks for the response. It's 'comforting' to know that I am not alone in this, but obviously, I'm not happy that this seems to be a bigger problem than I originally thought. I just called TWC and asked about the problem, and the phone tech told me that they certainly know about this issue and are hoping to have it resolved soon. Of course, this doesn't help much, since as long as this issue is around, I can't watch nor record anything off TCM ! And I, like most of the folks on here, use/watch TCM 75% of the time. I guess we have to play the waiting game. At least the TCM on Demand channel does not have this audio issue. Problem with that, though, is they only show about 6-10 movies on there, which is a fraction of what TCM shows all month long. Sigh. Why couldn't it have been C-Span that has this audio issue, and not TCM ! LOL
  7. Hi Gang, Lately, I've been having audio issues with TCM (here on channel 82 in New York). Mainly the audio is not in sync with the lips moving on the screen. First you hear the audio, and then the lips move on the actors. Like a 2-3 second tape delay. Is this just my TV setup, or is anyone else having this prob on channel 82 ? My other channels are fine, but it seems like this is only happening with TCM. Thanks !
  8. Just to clarify : New York Guy and I, are referring to recording the stations using DVD recorders, NOT dvr. We know that dvrs are working for everybody, that is not the issue. It's just that, all of a sudden this past August, TCM has become 'blocked' from recording using DVD recorders. And I have 3 DVD recorders (all diff brands), and they each are blocked from recording TCM, so it is not a DVD brand issue, it is either TWCableNY or TCM, that is blocking the signal. I've had cable for 18 years now, and have been able to tape TCM, without any probs, up until this August. And yes, there are quite a few other channels that have been blocked, over the years, like all HBO/Cinemax stations, Encore, Fuse, and most recently TV Land and Cartoon Network. But TCM was my bread and butter, and my fave station, so to not be able to record it now, is very sad. And like I said, I had a cable tech over the house recently, and he, nor his supervisor, could solve the issue, other than saying it is TCM that is blocking the signal, since they switched to HD format. So, what to do ?
  9. I don't have DVR, I am referring to recording using my DVD recorder. I have never had a problem recording TCM until this August, when they changed their picture screen and format (see my post about 'black bars on the screen' elsewhere on here). Before this happened, TCM was recording fine on my DVD recorder. So the change in TCM's signal does appear to be part, if not all, of the problem..................Either way, this really stinks......................
  10. Update (from another thread) : Okay, I had a techie from Time Warner Cable finally come over to find out why TCM is being blocked from recording/taping on my DVD recorder. He could not solve the problem, and called his supervisor. The supervisor promptly told him that ever since TCM switched its' signal, this past August, from SD to HD, that channel is now blocking all taping. He said it is TCM that has chosen to block the signal, not Time Warner. So, is this true ? Is TCM really now blocking its' signal from recording on Time Warner Cable ? I know it seems to still work on Dish, Fios, and DirectTV, from what I have read on the boards, but why is it being blocked on TWC ? Anyone else know or can confirm this ? All I know is that now I can't tape anything off TCM ! NOTHING ! This is absolutely awful...........

  12. I believe it is indeed Time Warner's doing. I have already called them several times to set up appointments, to have them come over to 'correct' the taping problem, but they constantly delay and reschedule the appointments. Gee, I wonder why ? So, I have been stuck for weeks now, not being able to tape any movies off TCM. :-(
