I was at Wal-mart at 6 AM. The crowd was gone and the saff was cleaning up litter and removing empty WALLETS......(pallets} I got a good chuckle out of that line until I realized I mis-read the word pallets for wallets, however, 'removing empty WALLETS' was probably more like it! :^0

some might say we have an inferiorty complex I feel exactly the same way Darkblue does RM.....I was disappointed by your reply, it seemed to add fuel to the fire.

Ive always been intrigued by Canadians and how they have this image of being not as good a Americans. That they have no culture and that any culture they do have is American. yogiboo!~ You are kidding I hope, cannot believe you made that statement! Our culture is every bit as good as yours. Have you not been following the posts about Elwy Yost's interviews of American Stars which were much more in depth then any other American Interviewer! I could go on & on about our Culture.... I wonder how RM & Darkblue feel about your statement, weight in RM!

Wherever they were based, I very much enjoyed watching both of them....made for a very longgg night though!

I guess that includes TCM without having to pay extra..........where I live, Niagara-on-the-Lake, I cannot get Rogers, only Bell or cogeco. I find Bell to be really expnsive..I pay over 220. mo. for Satelite, High Speed Internet & phone (including llong distance)

Darkblue, You mention you get TCM on Basic Cable, would that be Cogeco and if so, did you not have to bundle in order to get TCM and pay extra for TCM? I have BELL and had to buy 3 pkgs. in order to get TCM & pay an extra 18.00 just for TCM...

P.S. Tiny Tim's Wedding had the most viewers of Johnny Carson's Show of all time!
-
You mean they won't be showing TINY TIM'S Wedding? :_|
-
...Oh, that is soo true of AMC! That's why I won't watch it, too annoying, and am grateful to have TCM! Happy Thanksgiving!

...and also SPEED starring Sandra Bullock, great movie! Elwy Yost certainly had some great , at length, and in depth interviews. Even the stars would comment to him that they had never been interviewed for that lenght of time before. These interviews always took place in their homes which made it even more interesting. To think that it took a Canadian to come up with this idea made it even more unusual! -twinkeee

OMG..so sad to hear! I used to watch his segments during the Noon News way back when, long before the Food Network ever existed and always looked forward to them. Loved hearing him say, "Ohhhh, it's so Good"! -twinkeee
-
Wow! ..That is REALLY great to hear! What a coinsidence though that they are using the same format that TVO used, eh! What would REALLY be something though, if TCM used Elwy Yost's old interviews! Wouldn't that be something, huh! -twinkeee

Musicalnovelty, I for one strongly agree with you...ANY 30s, 40s Movie is BETTER then 70s or 80s, even the bad 30s., 40s movies are better! There's a reason the program is called "Turner CLASSIC Movies".........70s and onwards are NOT Classic! -twinkeee
-
.... Well that would have made your friends "hosers" eh!

Really looking forward to both watching & recording AFTER OFFICE HOURS tonight as I have never seen it before. It appears to be another promosing movie with Constance Bennett. Thank you for the info.... -twinkeee

Laurel and Hardy Collection. Too cheap???
twinkeee replied to solarblast's topic in General Discussions
Wal-Mart has the collection for $64.96 plus #$1.96 shipping or free store pick-up, maybe it will be cheaper on Black Friday! I think Amazon charges a handling fee as well as shipping, not sure. -twinkeee -
Clore, I managed to buy a new VCR at Wal-Mart for $68.00. I have a lot of VHS movies and I am not about to replace them all with DVDs as it would be too costly. Good luck with your new TV! -twinkeee

That is funny that you listen to him all the time and missed the interview because I never listen to him at all, never heard of him. However, the interview was on CBC TV last night (Thurs) around 11:30, it could have been a repeat, that I do not know. I have BELL and I thought I saw something like CBC D, do not remember or the # of the channel, nevertheless, it was very interesting, too bad you missed it.

The Jian Ghomeshi Show on CBC late last night, happen to come across the interview and I thought I would notify you since I know you are a fan of his....It was a very very interesting & long interview, too bad you missed it!
-
Did you catch the interview with Christopher Walken on CBC? It is on right now...
-
Is Isabel Bassett & her partner Irnie still involved with TVO? They pull a lot of weight & would think that maybe they would make an effort to save all those interviews......such a shame
