  1. When is CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT being shown on AMC? I love that house in the movie, that's the only reason I want to see it.

I see they are showing the BISHOP'S WIFE again..as much as I love that movie, they have shown it quite often in the past year, you would think TCM would show CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT instead, makes much more sense, eh! ;)

  2.

As you know, a lithograph is worth a lot more than a print, (a print can be made for pennies).

The Calgary SUN is a reputable Newspaper, I cannot see them making this offer if it were not legit.

Sounds to me like you would be buying the Lithograph and getting the subscription for free! A lot of the publishing companies are having a hard time right now and would do ANYTHING to get the advertising $$$$s

  3. The guests also stuck around and interacted with other guests on the show (often with hilarious results.)

That was one of the many reasons Johnny Carson's Show was so successful, unlike any of the talk shows today, that and certainly his interaction with Ed!

  4. I mentioned in a previous post that the Step Grandfather (Peggy's fathers Step Father), who was a Banker from Chicago, managed her first Million at the request of her father because her father felt he could not handle that much money. It was the Grandmother & Step Grandfather who squandered the first batch of money, the Million Plus.

The 650K was squandered by her mother & father.

  5.

I agree with you FredC about the coincidence of the movie plot, that is exactly what I thought too, that's why it is a movie.

As well, the Mother-in-Law to be, mentioned her daughter's name, Karen, when she handed the locket to Nancy, (the same name of Nancy's friend when she was little). Also, the fact that she fainted in front of the GROOM is significant. It just seems to prove that she realized she was marrying into Karen's family when the locket was handed to her by the MIL-to-be, that explains why as she is walking down the stairs towards the groom , we see all these different emotions on her face,.it just seems more logic that she is thinking about the locket and the family at that precise time then whether she is a kleptomaniac.

When Nancy was little, her friend, Karen, mentioned that her brother was away at school (the future grroom to-be). All these coincidences just seem to add up to her realization that she is marrying into that family, to me more so then realizing she is a kleptomaniac..

  6. ..So at the end when the good Nancy does realize there was a bad Nancy (due to the locket).the good Nancy breaksdown. This explains the breakdown. Because if each side of Nancy knew about the other, there was no reason for Nancy to have a breakdown.

jamesj: As I mentioned in a reply to FredC, I felt the moment she saw the locket when her MOTHER-IN-LAW to be handed it to her, she realized she was marring into the family and THAT is the reason she had the breakdown, realizing she was marrying into the family. The fact that her Mother-in-law to be handed it to her is signifficant to that conclusion, it just seems to fit...

  7.

That was EXACTLY what I took away from it, that the locket was the same one she received (or stole) as a child and that she was marring into the same family...isn't that why she became unhinged as she was walking down the isle, because that realization came to her and caused her to faint...the different expressions she showed as she was walking down the isle were priceless!

I felt the exact same way Fred, when the camera looked up her face inside her veil, that shot just gave me goosebumbs, soo breathtaking!

It truly was a remarkable movie with a lot of credit going to Miss Day!

As far as her being 'crazy', more like 'crazy likea FOX'.....

  8. THE LOCKET is one of the best noirs ever made. A unique story and a great cast.

It really does contain a flashback within a flashback within a flashback.

You were right, it really is one of the best noirs ever. Surprisingly, considering all the flashbacks, not that hard to follow and kept me mesmerised, wanting to believe she didn't do it.

It was Laraine Day's best performace that I have ever seen.
