Are these films hypnotizing ? Is there really that much power of suggestion up on the screen ? No, I do not believe that films hypnotize us. If that were the case, I am sure we would have had documentation or proof of that happening by now. As far as "power of suggestion", as you mentioned, everytime you see someone drinking tea or having a glass of Wine, you feel the need to get a corkscrew. That "power of suggestion" in the movies works exactly in the same manner that a 'commercial' does ! Think about it, how often do we hear people saying that everytime they see a Big Mac advertised on TV (especially up close), they have a yankering to go out to Macdonalds or at the very least, it makes them hungry ! Theres your proof of "power of suggestion"! Twink

I learned a long time ago that a mirror shows a reversed image of ourselves but a photograph does not. Although I knew about a mirror showing reversed images, I did Not know that a photograph does Not ! Amazing how one learns something 'New' everyday ! Thanks in part to people like You ! Of course back in the day, a movie could not be put on 'pause', nor did they have any idea as to what lay ahead in the future. Makes one wonder what 'other' errors are out there in the movies ! Yes I agree, that makes perfect sense ! The fact that it was a very 'key point' in the movie, even more so !

I get it now. Clearly there was an error in the movie and someone did not catch it it. I haven't seen it yet and I will look for the error.

PS ..Of course, you are 'extremely' observant...not everyone is. No doubt, most people would not have caught this.

..the screen writer and director could have just as easily explained that. I agree ...they could have explained it unless they wanted the audience to catch it, again to get their attention. (It did get Your attention.

The dialogue in the photo store is wrong and out of place. It is not needed. Do you suppose they did this delibertely to get the viewers attention and confuse them even more ?

I agree babes' A Cowboy's lingo has 'Always' been casual and it must sound silly to hear them talk otherwise. I've not seen the movie, when I have a chance will do so. Twink

Contradictions depend on the dialogou. "I'm going to town", sounds casual as opposed to "I Am Going to Town" !, which comes across as being adamant.
