  1. Wow John, that's pretty 'heavy stuff' ! I knew the glasses played a significant role, just did not know How significant . Guess the 'ole bat didn't overlook anything ! In the end, Charlotte did the right thing by taking Jerry's daughter under her wing, you might say she 'Played it Forward'! Twink
  2. finance, are you trying to keep up with Dargou ? :| Twink
  3. Not so Dargou ! A Mink Coat 'decreases' in value, it becomes used, whereas, jewelry usually increases in value, I know. Besides, jewelry is 'one size fits all' as opposed to a Mink Coat. Try and get a fat lady in a mink coat ! :0 Twink
  4. ..the glasses were deeply symbolic... John, I too felt the glasses were deeply symbolic, however, I would like to hear your take on it ! You have piqued my curiosity ! Twink
  5. Anyway, with men I find big things come in small packages ! Yeah cd, and big isn't always better.
  6. Hibi, the transition scene in the beauty parlor was probably cut because of the amount of hours it took to make that transition. :|
  7. re: the "old syle lighting" in Citizen Kane the lighting was considered "revolutionary" at the time. Septone, Yes, that's true, CITIZEN KANE'S visual brilliance was due to Gregg Toland's innovative cinimatography, who's unusual lighting schemes made the movie what it is. FredC would know more about what that entailed since he is up on unusual lighting in B & W movies.
  8. Clearly, her mother was jealous of Charlotte. She transgressed her own low self-worth feelings onto her own daughter. As far as Charlotte wearing glasses when she was young and not as an adult, no doubt her mother made her wear them, even if she didn't need them, just so she would look even more 'dowdy'. Of course since Charlotte did as she was told, she had no choice but to wear them. No wonder she had a nervous breakdown, given the type of person her mother was. Who could live with her? :0 Twink
  9. Yes and their wives become mother's to their husbands, but then, sometimes men can be like little boys, so that's understable.
  10. I agree babes' They were all men who were instrumental in her life's changes for the better. It was a Woman, her mother, who brought her 'down'. Twink
  11. That's why I wanted to see them get married in the end... babes', maybe she didn't love him ? (: Twink
  12. ..see, that's why I would have given him more then 40% ! Obviously, his contribution was more like 90%, at least. By making Her happy, he himself was happy.
  13. I would have given Jerry a lot more than 40%. ! A man can do a Lot more for a woman then clothes or a cruise ever could ! Twink
  14. Of course she helped Jerry too, and he did need help. The bottom line is, he brought out the best in her, and she did in him ! That is how a 'healthy' relationship should be ! Twink
  15. No relationship is ever 50-50. It could have been 90-10 either way and both people happy and content. It happens all the time, nothing new.
  16. Oh babes',....this is Your Lucky Night ! Dead Ringer (the twins) is on later on. Make sure you pay attention this time and don't fall asleep ! ps You will be quized Twink
  17. Yeah well, I'm still waiting for the 'Cheque'
  18. ....of course we know you are kidding Dargou ! Anyone who has enough nerve to wear a Green Polyester LEISURE Suit must be a great kidder !!! :0 Twink
  19. ....everyone should show "good manners", regardless of their age. Right Dargou ?
  20. he'd be a great guest programmer. ...at least he would inject some humour into the program, either him or Dargou. Either one of them would keep daddy O in 'stitches' ! Twink
