Steven Spielberg to remake The Grapes of Wrath
twinkeee replied to FlyBackTransformer's topic in General Discussions
It would be like saying someone will do a new painting of the Sistine Chapel. ....or a Picasso! That is the best comparison as well, everyone seems to forget that the lighting cannot be duplicated which adds so much to the B & W Classic Movies. -

....the lighting,as if by a single candle, was remarkable... No one could have said it better babes' It is the lighting in the classic movies that I am always impressed by which to me seems like a 'lost art' ! Twink -
Peter had been ABC News anchor once before, in the sixties, before he was ready for it. It was then that he began his apprenticeship as a television journalist, before becoming the chief correspndent based in London. He became ABC's news anchor sometime between 1982 - 1985. Twink

I agree Terrence, how can anyone improve on perfection ? That's why I dislike re-makes. -
I agree Dargou, that's why I mentioned WALL STREET because Only in that movie, I thought he was pretty suave. Of course there is no Other George Sanders or even anyone close like him. Peter Jennings was very sauve, but of course he was CANADIAN !!
-
Mike Douglas in WALL STREET (1987), I thought was he was very sauve in it.

LOL :^0 Dargou !

Of course parents are resposible for their "Little Brats" ! From what I see in the movies, back in the 'old days', parents and teachers were allowed to be much more strict with "Little Brats" compared to today's society, maybe that's were the problem lies becuase it is an epidemic. "Little Brats" now kill their own parents and think nothing of it, i.e. the Menendez Brothers, guess they were the 'ultimate'...."little brats" ! Edited by: twinkeee on Jul 3, 2013 12:06 AM

OMG :^0 LOL.....too Funny ! :^0 -
Since when do "little brats" listen to their parents ? They are more likely to be influenced by what they see in the movies, Tv, Music, etc. Lets face it, we wouldn't have the epedemic we do if they weren't.

Yeah Blu, if only Paula Deen had used the word "hooser" instead, she would have gotten into a 'whole lot less trouble' !

+....they knew about copy-cat crimes caused by young people reading salacious novels... Yes, like Mark Chapman who had read Catcher in the Rye and proceeded to kill John Lennon, there's a perfect example.

Kathleen Nolan...The Real McCoys Twinks -
Yeah James, the actors that appear on Johnny Carson also appear in a lot of movies that are shown on TCM, so therefore, it ties in with TCM perfectly I think. It was interesting to see George Burns tonight and to hear him talk about Al Jolson and Jack Benny, all from first hand experience. We are fortunate to be able to see these shows.

Zero Hour reminds me a lot of the movie AIRPORT (1970) with Dean Martin. It is almost identical, a re-make maybe ?

...superfluous letter "U"...really don''t NEED them... ...yes, the word CHEQUE as opposed to 'check', which could also mean a 'check mark', too confusing !!! Twink

Dargo, you have ties to Kelowna, BC, Neilsen's neck of the woods,so you must be feeling a sense of patriotism today, (but then again, maybe not) . :| Twink
