  1. I thought of AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER (1959) with Deborah Kerr, re-make of LOVE AFFAIR as well as YOU'VE GOT MAIL (1998) with Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, also a re-make of both, but they were made After the 30s/40s. Twink
  2. LOVE AFFAIR (1939) - Charles Boyer, that movie would be a pertect first date movie ! It has always left me feeling 'weepy'. :| Twink
  3. I don't know Hibi, a "cease & desist" letter, that doesn't sound good! I'd be 'shaking in my boots ' if I were you. Would that letter be by Email or regular post?
  4. Thank You for posting them TopBilled. I for one will very much look forward to them. Twink
  5. The piffle a thief will come up with. Very well put, Blu...
  6. So many of those swimming sequences were "same-old, same-old." It's the swimming sequences that were the most appealing and ejoyable to watch ! She certainly was very gifted. We have not seen anything like it since her movies and probably never will.
  7. < Hopefully she won't stumble on the George Brent thread in Hot Topics ! > LOL lzcutter :^0 ...how true!
  8. ...with a follow up to Laura, RAZOR'S EDGE (also stars Gene Tierney)
  9. Definitely Not FATAL ATTRACTION .... ,,.not unless she's Jody Arias :|
  10. TobBilled; The shots TCM showed of Esther in "Remembers" were just Amazing and stunning ! It just makes me even more anxious to see her movies as I have seen so few of them. Your Grandmother was a very wise woman to have recognized such great talent in Esther Williams! Twink
  11. ANN E. TODD.....starred in "How GreenWas My Valley" Twinks
  12. TCM just showed, ....'TCM Remembers Ester Williams'...it gave me goose bumps!
  13. ..which wives were not supposed to admit back in those days. Maybe they didn't admit it, but they did anyway ! Although, I'd have to say, more often then not, I have seen in old movies were women are quite open about 'finding a rich husband', which has always surprised me ! As far as The Rains movie, I thought Brenda Joyce (Fern) was excellent. Her voice and diction reminded me very much of Marilyn Monroe's voice. Twink
  14. SHARYN MOFFETT.......starred in the film noir, 'The Locket' (1946)
  15. You were lucky to get a 'quarter' ! ..could have been worse ...... ....since Canada stopped using 'pennies', (makes no 'cents'), be prepared for an onslaught of our obsolete copper cents B-)
  16. Yeah!....you probably did go "'LOONIE" after you gave your 'left one' !
  17. I would have liked to have seen more of the final scene...I felt it ended too soon. The fact that the movie was slow paced had an impact on one's emotions, you couldn't help but feel what they must have been feeling under such trying circumstances !
  18. I've never seen men get so excited at the thought of women coming to their town...funny!
  19. You're right, the photography is excellent ! Unfortunately, the movie itself is somewhat depressing, very emotional..
  20. ....that's too bad, think of all the 'quarters' you could make. :^0
  21. < All us extremely handsome men ..> Looks like the idea of you being a Chippendale Dancer has gone to your 'head' :0
