Maybe they didn't admit it, but they did anyway !
Although, I'd have to say, more often then not, I have seen in old movies were women are quite open about 'finding a rich husband', which has always surprised me !
As far as The Rains movie, I thought Brenda Joyce (Fern) was excellent. Her voice and diction reminded me very much of Marilyn Monroe's voice.

I would have liked to have seen more of the final scene...I felt it ended too soon.
The fact that the movie was slow paced had an impact on one's emotions, you couldn't help but feel what they must have been feeling under such trying circumstances !

You're right, the photography is excellent ! Unfortunately, the movie itself is somewhat depressing, very emotional..

Her head is tillted back, so the long tip of her nose does not show up as it does in the other pic (probably a photographer's trick to show her to her best advantage)
