..he said he was still going to leave her... He said that at the start, at some point, obviously, he realized she was Kate or he would not have said to her (at the end of the movie), "Yes, I knew it was you!" What we do not know is at what POINT did he know it was her...

She DIDN'T fool him... He clearly states, "I knew it was you all along !" Even her cousin stated he knew it was her all along.. Twink

I thought Bette did an excellent job portraying both sisters and I had No problem recognizing 'which one was which'. There difference in clothing style and there hair styles made it quite easy to distinguish the two. As well, one was more outgoing then the other, much more flirtatious. Twink

I really wanted tosee a scene where Lana visits the baby. Yes, I thought that too, very odd, instead they showed a scene where Holme visits Birney in the hospital and they hug, I don't think that even she saw the baby...maybe they showed Holme instead of Lana because she only had a couple of scenes. That movie had so much potential, would make a great re-make! Twink

Yes, I thought the acting for the most part was very good. I think Lana Turner 'carried' the movie and how Holme had such a small part is beyond me. This movie certainly had a lot of potential if only the lighting and film shots had not been so bad! I did think the same thing as you, what are the chances of this happening accidentally in real life! As far as it actually happing in some cultures, I think that is more true of 'cousins', especially in past centuries with Royalty. Twink
