musicalnovelty, Your point as stated was:
{"Which is more impressive, one's computer skills or one's knowledge of Movie Stars? I think it should 'definitely' be the latter..}
... that is the part I have a problem with, you feel it should be one's knowledge of Stars over that of computer research skills,.... perhaps you missed my point!

The second pic looks a bit like Ann Rutherford ?

While I admire Fred's (and others) research skills, I don't usually ID a picture unless I know who it is, no searching needed. Which is more impressive one's search skills or one's knowledge of movie stars. With all due respect to Fred, it should definitly be the latter...
Fred's knowledge of movie stars and movies are 'bar none' as are his research skills which are his 'expertise'. To insinuate that it should Only be based on one's 'knowledge' of the Stars,... there are No rules!
In the past, he has been kind enough holding off with his answer so that others, who are not as knowledgeable, have a chance to answer.
As for myself, sometimes I recognize a star instantly and sometimes I don't and a search is in order. I've only had TCM for 1 1/2 yrs and have been on the boards for 7 mos., my knowledge of Old Movie Stars is limited compared to others.
This is supposed to be a Fun Game, so does it really matter how it is played ?

Then I guess it was GAIL DAVIS, I assumed her TV name, Annie Oakley would do !

Annie Oakley ?
-
The name meant nothing to me either!
She was on a 1950s TV program called 'Ding Dong School " (I have never heard of it)!
Her name on the show was 'Miss Frances', the show also starred Fran Allison.

Did you check the 'Lost 'n Found' Hibi ?

And Mrs. Rayburn was very nice! Funny, I remember her as being a crusty old dame...
You have probably 'mellowed' with age Hibi

I can't see how Jimmy Stewart was 'head over heals' in love with Maureen.
Her voice was 'annoying' and she always sounded like she was on the verge of 'crying' in All of her movies! :|

Given that it was made in 1933, anything is possible. As, you noted before, there is probably a cut down version for TV.
The AIW shown on Fri has Both the credits at the Start of the movie as well as the end, which seems unusual I would think.
As far as all the Info from various sources, in regards to the lenght ., we know that they are not always correct.
-
Yes, the end of the movie shows the credits .
I recorded the movie.

By End Titles, do you mean credits at the end of the film ?

I recognized her 'instantly' from Leave It To Beaver re-runs as 'Theodore's Principal... as well from various movies.
She was also in a few I Love Lucy shows..tended to play 'uppity' society characters. She's the type of character that you just remember as having seen somewhere, but not necessarily where, however, the "Theodore's - principal episode stands out in my mind in the way she would 'pronounce' his name - typical of her character!

It is so sad to see how Linda's life ended, given her looks and talent !
Maybe her mistake was to marry for money instead of love, that seemed to be her undoing !

I'm 'Really' surprised that you can't hear it ring because it rings when the bookcase falls over, it rings when the water cooler falls over, etc.,...a total of 7 times and quite loudly, annoyingly so !
Maybe there is something wrong with your speakers? :|
Twink
-
Yes, I DID hear it ring, it rang 7 times & loudly !
The sound is always louder in the theater and I'm sure back in the 70s in San Francisco ?

Twink
-
Yes, I heard the phone ring, 7 times, unless it was my phone ringing (kidding)!
Maybe time for a hearing device? :0

GLORIA BLONDELL
I recognized her somewhat, knew I had seen her before and the name Gloria stood out in my mind!
Before I even analyzed your hints, the name came to me but your hints did help 'jog' my memory, Thanks.

I recognized Marlo 'instantly', and ID'd her Hibi...how, I don't know as that pic is certainly way before my time and as well, I had never 'Seen' a before pic of her. It just 'looked' like Marlo I guess.

I wish TCM would address this issue instead of leaving us in the 'dark' !
It would be the right thing to do!
