He carried Ricky's guitar..

I thought Bette did an excellent job portraying both sisters and I had No problem recognizing 'which one was which'.
There difference in clothing style and there hair styles made it quite easy to distinguish the two. As well, one was more outgoing then the other, much more flirtatious.

It's from the Blanche Deveraux Morning Collection.
...at least Blanche showed more Flair in her Caftans....Lana looked like she was trying not to trip while 'working' it on the stairs...

John Boy is also the name of a restaurant, isn't it?
Twink

I've never heard of 'Gym Bob', besides, John boy is a TV character...what does one have to do with the other?
Twink

...and how did 'John boy' apply to your reply ?
I didn't get the connection. :|

...John boy? :|

Don't feel bad...I thought 'Jeb' was a good old country boy's name, but as Usual, I was Wrong!
I envy people who are 'right' all the time, but one has to wonder, as Dr. Phil would say;
"Just how much fun are you to be with"?

....what time is dinner ?

It takes more then a 'corset' to be thin....
...like, working out maybe?

I've never heard of anyone named "Jett"
Maybe not, but then there's always the name 'Jeb'....as a good down home country boy name.

BITTERSWEET LOVE could easily be a reality TV show and no one would 'bat an eyelash', and yet, when we see a movie on the subject (incest) it seems so taboo....

<...what ward did for a living? >
...I thought he kept 'June Happy'

"diffusion filters"...hide lines in older actors..
Unfortunately, the fillters did not hide the bags under Lana Turner's eyes., nor did the Caftan she wore hide the pounds she had gained..

The 19th century Mormons figured out a way to get around that problem, but the danged government wouldn't let them do it.
....what problem, husbands and wives sleeping together ?

I really wanted tosee a scene where Lana visits the baby.
Yes, I thought that too, very odd, instead they showed a scene where Holme visits Birney in the hospital and they hug, I don't think that even she saw the baby...maybe they showed Holme instead of Lana because she only had a couple of scenes.
That movie had so much potential, would make a great re-make!

Yes, I thought the acting for the most part was very good. I think Lana Turner 'carried' the movie and how Holme had such a small part is beyond me.
This movie certainly had a lot of potential if only the lighting and film shots had not been so bad!
I did think the same thing as you, what are the chances of this happening accidentally in real life!
As far as it actually happing in some cultures, I think that is more true of 'cousins', especially in past centuries with Royalty.

The husband wanted to but the wife didn't.

....that's typical, isn't it ?..

OMG..soo funnie', "Working the Caftan on the Staircase". :^0 ..I bet she was "****", imagine 'Thee' Lana Turner in such a Sh.... movie!
It did have a lot of potential and could have been 'almost' equal to Peyton Place...but you're right, everything from 'start to finish' was wrong about the movie except for the story line.

They didn't sleep together or have sex after they found out they were half brother and sister. That in it self tells you that incest was very much part of the movie...

BITTERSWEET LOVE
HALF Brother and Sister (shared same father) !
Yes I saw it and yes you are right, It was Very Very badly shot, framing, lighting, etc., I could not believe it ! In fact, because of the bad lighting , I did not recognize Lana Turner at first.
The movie itself reminded me some what of PEYTON PLACE which also starred Lana Turner. Certainly Holme had no more then a walk-on role.
I too felt riveted to watch it to the end, Only to see if they would stay togehter or not, thank God they didn't!
Can't say I felt a sense of shame for watching it, after all, it was only a movie.

<RO could have suggested that to Drew instead of Auntie Mame. He might have even 'blown her mind'! >
LOL :^0 Very Funnie'

Leonard Maltin has crossed my mind many times as co-host.
He would certainly be the 'Ultimate' co-host !

......smacks a bit of 'Cinderella and the Ugly sisters going to the Ball.'...

Then how was she able to fool the other one's husband ?
...because men can be 'Blind' sometimes..
Seriously, she 'DIDN'T' Fool him...in the end, he said to Kate, "I knew it was you all along."
So you see, she never did " Fool" him...
