I so hope I am not mixing this movie up with another great movies in my head.
The story line is a dowdy young girl goes on a boat trip across country and meets a psycharists that helps her to open up and become her own person. She comes back home a new women but to the same controlling mother who wants her life to revolve around her. I think the doctor comes back in the picture. I can't remember the rest, as I remember bits and pieces I'll add more but any assitance would be appreciated this is driving me crazy
