MissW, I was just trying to provide some much needed levity to the thread that has become so "prickly" all of a sudden. Your syntax is, of course, impeccable. I'm sorry the thread you started has disappeared. It was humourous to follow.

I wonder if "when threads get mysteriously disappeared" is in any way related to "when threads mysteriously disappear."? Hmmmmm.

I too saw the 50th anniversary of Citizen Kane at a Fox Theatre. Alas, I never did use the restroom so I have no piquant anecdote to share. Perhaps I should have had a beverage. Soooooooory.

A private message to the moderator from you may explain the removal. Just a suggestion that appears to have been dismissed. Oh the pain. lol

Indeed ! Here's one from the beginning of his tenure at TCM.

Yep, that's R.O. from his guest spot on Beverly Hillbillies in 1962. I was wondering how long before someone figured out I was trying to sneak one past .

Although I have it on good authority that Granny added her trademark Rheumatiz Medicine to her Wishbone when the Clampett kin folk set down to eat their victuals and greens. :^0

Time to resurrect this thread. Here's a couple of lookalikes that's bound to elicit laughter.

I read a biography on Cagney that said he was 5'6 1/2" At least we can say with certainty that he was taller than Prince.

Meanwhile, as we await confirmation, we have this dapper chap to contemplate.

I believe the reason the male species in nature is more beautiful, humans notwithstanding, is to protect the off spring bearing female from predators. If they are less conspicuous then they will be less targeted..
I think in more polite company, woman are less inclined to discuss the merits of a man's endowment. This forum would include polite company. It's socialization at work.

On the other hand, no one could play the role of the mousy little guy quite like *Hervé Villechaize.

> . I would not be averse to seeing films like Deer Hunter, Dog DayAfternoon, Serpico, Sophie's Choice or Mean Streets on TCM.
All those films have been shown on TCM !

Bill Kennedy's most famous role was a fellow passenger to Bette Davis in Now,Voyager.
Here's another local television icon.

Who woulda thought my little "put on" about those three brainiacs would have elicited such a concerted debate. But then again as the old adage says, " A mind is a terrible thing to waste."
h3. {color:black}Karlo Marx and Fredrich Engels
Came to the checkout at the 7-Eleven
Marx was skint - but he had sense
Engels lent him the necessary pence

As a hetero female I'd say my three favorite hot guys are:
Charles Darwin
Karl Marx
Albert Einstein

Harry Lillis Crosby !

Or what about a biopic on Johannesburg native Basil Rathbone's love of grapes titled, The Grapes of Rathbone.

I too miss the wonders of Karnak so I'll have to enjoy just the pictures.

Yep, Jimmy was sure endowed with a flock of beautiful red hair.
