I think the *Dan* has the last word on the correct title of the film.

Oh, that face, that fabulous face. Whose is it?

I would say that is Elissa Landi; she played the cousin of Nora Charles in After the Thin Man. Twink, I got it first. I noticed you edited your answer from Anne Baxter to Elissa Landi after I posted the correct answer of Elissa Landi first.. You didn't indicate you made changes to your answer. -

Warning ! Warning ! This does not compute. My tapes are malfunctioning. I'd have to agree with FlyBack, just no love for the salt of the earth type shows. Where's *Lost In Space, Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, and Beverly Hillbillies* on this list? Too much elitist Hollywood stuff Edited by: heuriger on Jun 5, 2013 5:28 AM -

I was staying at the Hotel Central downtown there, ya see, having one of them tasty bratwurst, when I saw Richard Hoff, Curly's his nickname, stroll through the lobby. Yep, the one and only, Richard Hoff, Hotel Central, Milwaukee. I think he was with some electrician, who was turning the lights on and off. -

The song title, The Ballad of Dwight Fry, was misspelled on purpose because Vincent Furnier & the boys had good lawyers who informed them to do this to avoid any lawsuit.

Well, after eight years TCM has not secured the rights to Dracula. That acutally predates the fire at Universal. Let's say that my remark about TCM thinking Dracula is an obscure film was hyperbole. I think TCM has to have some accountability for not being able to secure these film rights while other networks have access to them, especially sister stations like TNT and TBS. It's too easy to point the finger at Universal. It's too facile and pat. One reason TCM may not want to secure these rights is financial.

TCM is not doing right by other film genre fans...
heuriger replied to FlyBackTransformer's topic in General Discussions
The standard *pat* response by some to the lack of Universal titles on TCM is, "It's Universal that won't play fair, not Turner." That's gettin' so *cliché.* -
A *spit-take* is a comic technique in which someone spits a drink out of his or her mouth when he or she reacts to a statement. *How très gauche !!* Oh, how terribly naive of me to think that TCM would be blamed for the shortcomings that happen its way. Mind you, TCM never creates these situations; rather, they are foisted upon itself by all things in heaven and (hell).

I don't believe that remake has been in the works for five years. Maybe TCM believes Dracula is an obscure film. Here is a link to a thread that discussed Dracula not airing during an all day tribute to Bela Lugosi back in 2006. One poster said that Dracula hadn't even aired on Halloween 2005 and 2006. I don't believe it was aired on Halloween 2007 to Halloween 2012. http://forums.tcm.com/message.jspa?messageID=7825964

Would you charactize Dracula (1931) as an obscure film? Why isn't this being shown?
