  7. Speaking of rice, with Mardi Gras around the corner do you cook anything special for Fat Tuesday? I'm gonna do a Zatarain's gumbo mix with rice, sausage, shrimp and okra. For dessert, a pączek or two pączki. Nothing like going international.

  9. The 1946 Great Expectations is brilliantly photographed by Guy Green. I especially like the first scene when Pip is dashing across the swamps and he encounters Magwitch in the cemetary. The scenes when they go rowing at night on the Thames and the cabin on the river are also beautifully lit. Masterful job of light and shadows. I prefer this production to Oliver Twist.
