  1. Fast & Furious 6 Gets An Official Plot Synopsis

BULLET[/i]TOTHEHEADONLINE|DOWNLOADMOVIEFREEOFCOSTHERE+%282013%29]Watch Bullet To The Head Online. The latest installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise is coming out this May, but you may have noticed that there are still a few missing details about the movie - namely all of them. Not only do we not have a trailer yet, we have zero clue what the film is about. But we are starting to learn a few more details about the movie. For one, the film is officially called Fast & Furious 6 (not Fast Six as had been predicted after Fast Five) and this Sunday the Super Bowl broadcast will include the first ever footage from the film. Even better, you don't have to wait until then to find out about the plot. In advance of the big game spot, Universal has revealed the official synopsis for the new Justin Lin-directed action flick.

Watch Warm Bodies Online. As previously reported the movie will be taking the infamous crew led by Paul Walker and Vin Diesel to Europe, but what you may not know is that they're missing home something fierce. Check out the details below. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of all-stars as the global blockbuster franchise built on speed races to its next continent in Fast & Furious 6. Reuniting for their most high-stakes adventure yet, fan favorites Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and Elsa Pataky are joined by badass series newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.

Watch A Haunted House Online. Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian's (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin's empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Watch Hansel And Gretel Online. Building on the worldwide blockbuster success of Fast Five and taking the action, stunts and narrative to even greater heights, Fast & Furious 6 sees director Justin Lin back behind the camera for the fourth time. He is supported by longtime producers Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel, who welcome producer Clayton Townsend back to the series. There are still some mysteries left to be solved, including how Gina Carano's character will play into the plot, but if that question isn't answered by upcoming trailers or the Super Bowl ad then perhaps it will just be a cool surprise left for the theatrical release. Kill The Messenger, the in-development movie based on the true story of journalist Gary Webb, has been in development for quite a long time now.

Watch The Hobbit Online. The project was first set up at Unuversal eight years ago by producer Scott Stuber, however, it has wallowed in development hell ever since. But finally the film has gotten some good news that could very well put it on the fast track. Deadline has learned that in advance of next week's Berlin Film Market Jeremy Renner has signed on to both star in and produce Kill The Messenger. Michael Cuesta, who won an Emmy last year for his work on the critically beloved Showtime series Homeland, is set to direct the film based on a script by Peter Landesman (who is currently directing the new JFK assassination drama Parkland).

Watch MAMA Online. For those unfamiliar with the story, Gary Webb was a reporter working for the San Jose Mercury News who wrote a three-part series about the connection between the CIA and the Contras in Nicaragua who were smuggling cocaine into the United States, which was then sold as crack in Los Angeles. Following the report the government organization began a smear campaign against the writer, leading Webb to kill himself. He was 48 years old. Landesman based his script on two separate books, including Webb's "Dark Alliance: The CIA, The Contras, And The Crack Cocaine Explosion," and "Kill The Messenger: How The CIA’s Crack-Cocaine Controversy Destroyed Journalist Gary Webb" by Nick Schou. Production is aiming to begin this summer, though there's no official release date in place yet. In addition to football players playing football, the Super Bowl is also a major event for commercials and new movie trailers and TV spots. This year, that'll include World War Z, Marc Forster's feature adaptation of Max Brooks' popular novel. The thirty-second spot focuses on zombie mayhem and danger for Brad Pitt's character Gerry Lane and his family. The good news is, the TV spot, which comes courtesy of iTunes, is exciting and full of action and available to watch before Sunday's big game. The less exciting news is that a lot of what's featured looks familiar if you've seen the previously released trailer, with at least one notable exception. See if you can spot it.

It begins with Brad Pitt and Mireille Enos' Gerry and Karin playing 20 Questions with their kids, just as the theatrical trailer did, and then leads in to some other familiar scenes, including the swarm of zombies coming over the bus and the pile of them climbing up the wall at the end. The only major moment that I noticed that I didn't see in the original trailer was the plane crashing around the 23-second mark. We get a few glimpses of a plane in the theatrical trailer, but the terrifying scene with the passenger jet explosion and the disturbing glimpse of people being sucked out the hole in the side appears to be new. And one more piece of the mayhem in store for this film. Taylor Kitsch was the front and center star of last year's Super Bowl trailers, with spots for John Carter and Battleship, but this year seems to belong to Dwayne Johnson. During Sunday's game we'll see the first preview of the upcoming Fast Six, where the action star returns as DSS Federal Agent Luke Hobbs, as well as a new look at Snitch, the new thriller from director Ric Roman Waugh. But while we still have a few days to wait for the sixth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, the latter has already made its way online. Based on a true story and written by Waugh and Justin Haythe, Snitch tells the story of a father who makes the ultimate sacrifice when his son is arrested after being set up in a drug deal: in order to reduce his son's sentence, he agrees to go undercover for the DEA and expose a criminal drug ring. The film co-stars Susan Sarandon, Jon Bernthal, Harold Perrineau, Michael K. Williams, Barry Pepper, Benjamin Bratt and Nadine Velazquez and will be in theaters on February 22nd. For more from the movie, including news updates, stills, and the first theatrical trailer head on over to our Blend Film Database, and come back on Sunday as we will have all of the Super Bowl trailers ready and waiting for you as soon as they arrive.

  2. Is A World Of Warcraft Movie A Good Idea? A Gamer Speaks Out

Watch Warm Bodies Online. A fantasy adventure movie based on the sprawling world of the online game sensation World of Warcraft has been bumping around for years now. Back in 2006 Steven Spielberg was rumored for the director's chair on a could-be adaptation. Three years later Sam Raimi was attached. But last summer he confessed the movie would be going into production soon, but without him. A few months later, reports of yet another writer taking on the script arose, giving signs of hope to WoW fans far and wide. And then just yesterday the surprising news came out that Duncan Jones of Moon would helm. I was surprised by this pick, since Jones is better known for sci-fi than fantasy.

MAMA[/i]ONLINE|+DOWNLOADMAMA2013MOVIEFREENOW]Watch MAMA Online. Would this filmmaker who stood out with a mind-bending low-budget space drama be a good choice for a presumably special effects heavy fantasy epic? Sure, with 2011's Source Code Jones showed he could handle action sequences, but is he ready to deliver on the high expectations WoW lovers are sure to bring to this movie? I can't say for sure, since I have only a teeny bit of knowledge on World of Warcraft. But I happen to be married to fellow movie lover, and long-time WoW enthusiast who has been playing the games for decades. We sat down to discuss the World of Warcraft movie, trying to figure out if Jones is a good call for director, and if noobs like me should expect to be wowed.

Watch Bullet To The Head Online. Kristy: So, Zach, first and foremost can you tell me what you think of the idea of a World of Warcraft movie? Zach: Well, I'm a little bit torn. The world that Blizzard has created is certainly full of potential for interesting stories. But there are a number of possible problems, the most obvious one being the factionalism that is inherent in World of Warcraft. Kristy: Factionalism? You mean because there are so many ways to play it? Zach: Not exactly. Warcraft at its core is all about Alliance vs. Horde. A lot of players are fiercely loyal to one side or the other. I think it would be difficult to make a movie that satisfied both sides. There aren't really clear-cut good guys and bad guys when you are talking about Alliance vs Horde.

Watch The Haunting in Connecticut 2 Online. There is a lot of grey area, unlike in say Lord of the Rings or Star Wars where the villains and heroes are clearly defined. There are some definitely evil forces in the world, like the Scourge or the Burning Legion, but players on both sides of the Alliance/Horde schism think that their side is the good side. So if a movie favors one side over the other, there will be nerd rage storm of epic proportions. Kristy: Whoa. That was something I hadn't even considered. Well, what is it you'd hope for in a WoW movie? Zach: It's really hard to say. I never thought they would actually try to make it a major motion picture.

Watch Breaking Dawn Part 2 Online. I figured it would be niche thing, like a direct-to-DVD animation similar to what DC and Marvel have been doing. Something where they didn't have to establish the world, because their market is already aware of it. There's just so much backstory, I'm not confident they can parse it in a way that will satisfy many of us who play. You could just make up a story and set it in the world of WoW, but if you're going to do that what's the point of using World of Warcraft as a base at all. Really, without knowing what the story of the movie is about, I have no idea how to wrap my head around it. Kristy: But I remember you didn't have high hopes for The Hobbit movie either once you heard they were expanding it into a trilogy. But ultimately you really enjoyed that. Do you think they could just make up a story that might have some Easter Eggs to the massive backstory and you'd be game?

Watch Hansel And Gretel Online. Zach: To me what makes WoW interesting is the lore, is the history. If you're not going to really utilize that in a movie adaptation, I don't see the point. Christ, I've been playing Warcraft games since fifth grade, so that's what—twenty years? I don't know how you encompass this expansive world in a single film. But there's a lot of different time periods within the span of these games. Maybe it'd work if they set it during one of the first wars. I just don't know. Tolkien also had a whole world that he established with his works, but again it had a clean story with established good guys and bad guys. WoW doesn't necessarily work that way. Kristy: I know you liked both Moon and Source Code a lot, what do you think of Duncan Jones directing this movie?

Watch The Hobbit Online. Zach: I think he's an interesting pick. I think his past works show a psychological bent on sci-fi. Basically, the fact that his works have a lot of questioning to them and moral ambiguity to them—I don't want to get into too much to avoid spoilers— Kristy: Good call. Zach: But the fact that they chose him, and he has these works that are not clear cut narratives gives me hope. Maybe this will be interesting. Maybe there won't be easy villains in the movie. Kristy: Do you think there is a way that Jones and Blizzard can make a World of Warcraft movie that will appeal to fans as well as people unfamiliar with the game, but interested in fantasy because of things like The Lord of The Rings movies, and Game of Thrones? I actually wanted to ask you about the voice-over narration, because it is one of those things that’s really easy to screw up. There are so many films that just use it as a crutch for exposition or give up on it when it’s no longer useful – and one thing I loved about how you used it in your movie is that it’s always there, it never goes away. But was there ever a time when you tried to make it work without voice-over or was it there from draft one?

No, I always knew we kind of wanted it. Some people suggested we not have narration. Obviously this movie owes a great deal to Edward Scissorhands and that movie has no narration,. If you think about that movie having narration…it would have sucked with narration [laughs]. But to me it was always the idea that there’s the juxtaposition of what goes on in this guy’s head versus what you see, and voice-over is such an integral part of that. I think that finding the right placement of the voice-over and finding the right tone for the voice-over was really challenging. In the first draft the voice-over was very much lifted directly from the book, and Isaac [Marion] wrote this beautiful prose. But when you match it to the visuals we shot there was some kind of disconnect. So I learned that we had to take it in a slightly different direction in order to better capture the spirit of what Isaac wrote. And we also wanted to push it in a funnier and funnier direction because the biggest challenge of this movie is keeping it entertaining because there’s so much dead air – no pun intended [laughs]. So we wanted to push the voice-over in a more and more comedic direction while still maintaining the spirit of his book and also the social commentary of it. I just kept pushing it and I finally got these two guys who were around on 50/50, who worked with Seth [Rogen] and Evan [Goldberg], and we sat down, the three of us – they’re thanked in the “special thanks” – and we watched the movie. It was almost like Mystery Science Theater. And sometimes we got to the point where I was like, “Nah, we’re making fun of it. We can’t do that!” We watched the movie and we just started riffing on it and they were incredibly helpful at the very last minute to get the voice-over to where it needed to be. So it’s really cool and they were super helpful.

  3. Nick Cassavetes To Direct Revenge Comedy The Other Woman

WARM[/i]BODIESONLINE|DOWNLOADWARMBODIES2013MOVIEFREE+NOW]Watch Warm Bodies Online. As a director Nick Cassavetes is probably best known for helming the wildly popular adaption of Nicholas Sparks' life-spanning romance novel The Notebook. The smashing success of that tearjerker led to his helming another devastating drama based on chick lit, 2009's My Sister's Keeper. But for his next venture, Cassavetes is leaving the drama behind and embracing the dark side of comedy. Variety reports Cassavetes has signed on to direct Fox's The Other Woman. Penned by Melissa Stack, the script has been described as First Wives Club for a younger generation. The story centers on a woman in love who is shocked to discover he beau is married. Outraged, she goes to his wife, and the two decide to team up to get revenge on the man who cheated on them both.

Watch Bullet To The Head Online. Last November, Cameron Diaz was attached to star while Kristen Wiig was reportedly in talks. But Variety's sources say Diaz is no longer with the project, and no mention is made of Wiig's involvement. We should get word on who will headline soon though, since the studio's looking to have both the female leads locked down by the end of next week. Without stars attached, it's difficult to know what to make of this will-be movie. For one, though Cassavetes has acted in comedies like The Hangover Part II, he has not yet helmed one. He was slated to direct an action-comedy called Cali, but that feature is currently on hold. For her part Stack is a newcomer, though one with a lot of buzz thanks to her 2007 Black List script I Want to **** Your Sister, which is now in development at MTV Films.

Watch Warm Bodies Online. All around The Other Woman seems a wild card, but if they get the right talent it could prove a winner. With so many titles to choose from, Netflix Instant's library can be overwhelming. So we offer this biweekly column as a tool to cut through the clutter by highlighting some now streaming titles that pair nicely with the latest theatrical releases. Looking to Parker, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and Movie 43 for inspiration, we've pulled together a selection of mind-blowing action movies, fascinating fairy tales and raunchy ensemble comedies. Jason Statham stars as the titular master thief who seeks vengeance on the crew that turned on him and left him for dead. Teaming up with an unscrupulous real estate agent (Jennifer Lopez), Parker plans to hijack the duplicitous crew's next take.

Watch The Haunting in Connecticut 2 Online. Michael Chiklis, Bobby Cannavale, Nick Nolte, Clifton Collins Jr., and Patti LuPone co-star; Taylor Hackford directs. With a convoluted plot and major misfires, Parker will likely be a flick quickly forgotten. But if you enjoy action movies centered on captivating criminals, you're sure to check out this tense trio that includes a face-snatching terrorist, a charismatic bank robber, and a daring drug dealer/devoted dad. Face/Off (1997) FBI agent Sean Archer takes going undercover to a new extreme when he has plastic surgery to swap faces with imprisoned terrorist Castor Troy. But when this unhinged criminal escapes—with Archer's face—the tables are turned in a crazy game of cat and mouse. John Travola and Nic Cage star and swap roles with a flare that's insanely fun to witness; John Woo directs.

Watch Hansel And Gretel Online. Out of Sight (1998) Jennifer Lopez cemented her movie star status with this whip-smart crime comedy that co-stars George Clooney. He's a bank robber with a smile that makes tellers melt, and she's a federal marshal who is as sassy as she is fearless. Their meet-cute takes place in the trunk of a car as he escapes prison. Later, as she tries to track him down, their game of cat and mouse only adds fuel to the fire of their smoldering shared attraction. Ving Rhames, Steve Zahn, and Don Cheadle co-star; Steven Soderbergh directs. Sleepless Night (2011) Beginning with a bloody shoot out in the streets, this tautly paced thriller follows Vincent, an undercover police office whose allegiance is called into question when a bust goes bad.

Watch MAMA Online. When a drug lord kidnaps his teenaged son, Vincent can't go to his cop colleagues and so must infiltrate the kingpin's nightclub to get his boy back. This crime thriller out of France has been universally cheered by critics, and described as a mash-up of Die Hard, 24 and Taken. What else could you possibly want? Tomer Sisley stars; Frédéric Jardin directs. Making an adaptation of a book told in the first person is more than enough of a challenge, but as you can imagine that task is only made harder when the protagonist happens to be a zombie. Not only do you have to deal with widening perspective and creating a larger world, you also have to deal with the fact that from outward appearances the hero is a mumbling, stumbling, brainless bag of meat that spends every moment dreaming of devouring human flesh.

Watch Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters Online. This was the principal issue facing Jonathan Levine when he first came aboard to adapt Isaac Marion’s novel Warm Bodies - and an important element of the story I recently had the pleasure of discussing with the writer/director. Set in a world overtaken by the living dead, the movie centers on R (Nicholas Hoult), a zombie leading a meaningless existence of boredom and hunger. But that all changes when he meets Julie (Teresa Palmer), a beautiful live human whose boyfriend R has devoured. But as R and Julie get closer they both discover that something is changing within him, and that something could change the entire world. Check out my full interview with Levine below in which he talks about not only accessing the mind of a zombie, the challenge of the film’s shifting tones, the wonderful, eclectic soundtrack, and the rule established in the editing room: if it’s funny it goes into the movie.

Well, it’s interesting because it’s not as scary as you might think, because you read the book and you’re not like, “Wow, I can’t believe I’m so scared of this,” you’re like, “Oh, no one has done this before!” It’s so rare when you’re making a movie that you can be like, “Well, nobody has done this before!” I can’t think of things that nobody has thought of. So that’s exciting! Once you start from that place it’s actually more liberating than scary. But I think the bigger challenge is that in the book it’s all obviously internal monologue and it’s like translating that into a movie, so we had to get the voice-over – which we worked really long and hard on and I got a lot of help on – and it’s mostly in the screenwriting phase. Because once I cast Nick [Hoult] I was like, “Okay, that guy will take care of that. He’s awesome.” I just have to be there every once in a while to remind him of stuff, but he’s awesome. I don’t have to worry about that. That’s the great thing about being a director. You have your list of things you have to worry about and things you don’t have to worry about. If you can hire someone or cast someone who equates to not having to worry about, it’s great! It’s like one of a thousand things you can check off [laughs]. You have so many things you have to worry about. But mostly it was in the screenwriting phase, getting that point of view down. In the book it’s so very deliberately in the zombie’s point of view, but in the movie you have to kind of break point of view a little bit. And you want to, because you want to get more of Teresa [Palmer]’s story, you want to get more texture of the world. So that was a challenge too: breaking point of view but still having the spirit of Nick’s point of view. And I think we were able to do that okay.
