On, you are so close!  And since I'm not going to be around for about a week, I'll give it to you.  It was Douglas Fairbanks, Sr.  I thought it was Jr., too, but the source that I took it from just said Douglas Fairbanks and so I assumed it was the father.  Maybe you actually are right.  Anyway, the thread is yours. 

  2. An affectation that was usually attributed to Fred Astaire alone was the wearing of a tie instead of a belt around his waist.  However this fashion statement did not originate with him.  He actually copied it from another male star who was a friend of his.  Name the star.

    The star in question was a big name in silent movies.

  3. This probably isn't it because it isn't from a revue and Libby Holman was not the first person to perform it, but nobody else has taken a guess, so what the heck!  Is it Love for Sale?
