I'm trying to remember a movie I saw on TCM and can't find it!
It starts with the star on a 'fire watch' with an older gentleman - maybe on New Year's Eve? Or 4th of July?
She has a grown son that she gave up at birth, but knows the family who adopted him. He's in the service and has a weekend furlough - he stays with her, but doesn't know she's his mother. She meets him (or is supposed to meet him) at a train station.
The older gentleman plays a part in helping her by helping the son get married. In the end (of course) he finds out she's his mother.
Anyone remember the movie and the star? I want to think it's Bette Davis, but I can't seem to find it in her filmography.
