It was a movie but I did not write down the name of it. It basically was about some sailors on one ship and they were involved in a band for that ship along with their lives onboard. The jest of the movie was the competition of the other bands of other ships. Thanks for the reply.

I am trying to find the name of a movie . I saw only part of it on TCM. It was about sailors on battleships and they were having musical band competitions for the best band. I'm guessing the movie was made in the early 1930's as I did not recognize the names of any of the characters. Thanks for any help.
