  1. What is the best way to find out what shorts TCM will be playing? Thinking spefically of the shorts they show between features. Can't find on the TCM site. Probably not looking in the right spot. TIA
  2. Lol, I meant my wife. Admit it, it did conjure up a sympathetic twinge just for a second right. I spoke my peace, thanks for listening. Clear on this end.
  3. Yes. The best things in life are supposedly life. That's how I viewed this. We were disappointed but will recover. It is just difficult when your six year old daughter looks at you with tears in her eyes and asks "We are going to get in right daddy?"
  4. With an eye toward full disclosure I should mention the tickets were in fact free. Whether free or bought, the issue remains the same, lots of disgruntled folks and wasted time( I could have been out buying a winning lottery ticket with the I wasted in line) lured in by a false expectation of attending an event that unbeknownst to them, but surely known by the sponsor was overbooked. This event had TCMs name on the event, so this thread is directed at the name on the marquee. Got home last night turned on TCM and was flushed with disappointment over the nights events. It will pass but I now look at TCM slightly differently when it is on. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice........ That said, when is the next Marx Brothers showing. I need by TCM Fix.
  5. Went to the TCM Road To Hollywood last night at the Kimo Theater in Albuquerue last night to see Marnie hosted by Tippi Hedron and Ben W. After procuring tickets off the internet we showed up 5 minutes after the doors opened and ended up being in a group of about 200 who were turned away because it had been overbooked. With the promise of a seat in hand we took off work early, braved finding a parking spot then venturing thru the war zone to get to the movie house only to be turned away due to overbooking. Shame on you TCM. Here is an idea, print on the ticket "this is no guaranteed of admission" for those harboring the false hope that it is. Or better yet print the number of tickets equal to theater seating, after those are distributed subsequent tickets are printed and issued as standby tickets to cover for no shows.
