Who was Abraham Lincoln without his beard: a hick country lawyer from the sticks. Stonewall Jackson, ZZ Topp, Karl Marx, Brigham Young, Santa Claus, Gandalf, Charlton Heston as Moses, The Red Sox, etc. etc. etc.

Definitely a total snoozer. I quit watching and finished a good book. Now I think the little red birds are completely overmatched. Sox in 5. Vincent P. sounds more interesting tonight though I will watch some of the game. At least the dratted, despised, and detested pirates are not in the series.

Olivia and Joan should have a duel at dawn with flintlock pistols and sort their ancient feud out. I love the films of both ladies.

I am so looking forward to watching THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM on Oct. 31!!!! Scared me badly when I was a kid in a big dark theater when this first came out. Gave me a more than a few nightmares at night. Did not want to sleep in a dark bedroom. Haven't seen this Price movie in a very long time. I so hope to be creeped out again. Wish I could make my wife watch it with me. Hates anything even slightly scary/creepy. Maybe I will not tell her what is coming on and that I think there's a Judy Garland musical up next. Vincent Price made me the drooling evil old man I am today and then Stephen King novels really undid my mind. So looking forward to THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM again!!!!

It was an epic series in 1960 between Goliath and David with David (the hated Pirates) winning in a thunderous cataclysm I can't forget. Still vivid in my in my young boy mind. Amazing how some things are never forgotten or forgiven. I just hope this 2013 series goes seven great games as well. I don't love baseball nearly as much as I used too but the game is still transcendent some of the time. One of my grandfathers told me he watched Ty Cobb play and that is still way way cool to me.

I have HATED the Pirates since 1960 when they beat my then favorite team the Yankees and my childhood god Micky Mantle. Demonic Bill Mazeroski and his despised though epic HR to win the series. Still can't root for the Pirates to win anything ever though I don't give a dried up cowpie for the Yankees anymore.

Rooting for Boston as I always root for the American League in the Series UNLESS by some earth-shattering heaven-rending event my and my wife's Colorado Rockies might get there again. My good wife will root for St. Louis as she roots for the National League. It will be trenches, grenades, and bayonet warfare in our living room until the end of the Series. The RED SOX will win in 6.

I would like to see "Duel" (1971) on TCM. Spielberg's classic car/ghost truck road rage movie. Great action plus Spielberg's young genius shows through. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CFkQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.moviefanfare.com%2Fdue%2F&ei=Rp5mUoyKO87YyAGI44CwCg&usg=AFQjCNEc5ky6qVSxery0TZ8m_SdwiGJouw&sig2=xdctzKCQmBAganaCPi4rZw&bvm=bv.55123115,d.aWc&cad=rja

You hotshot need to go buy a dozen eggs and a toothpick.

I had never seen Burn Witch Burn until tonight. That was a truly spooky movie. I may sleep with a light on tonight. Hopefully my wife will be home soon to guard the house and me. She's a very smart woman. Won't watch spooky movies or read Stephen King novels while I on the other hand like to be creeped out. Burn Witch Burn creeped me out good.

Jean Arthur!! Jean Arthur!! Jean Arthur!! Everyday is this exquisite lady's birthday as far as I am concerned. What a gift she was to the world of movies. I am in love.

I explicitly used the term "wussy" with you in mind. Sums up the sordid programming situation.
-
The series should never have been started then as moving to the wee hours on a Monday night effectively moves me and other viewers with an interest to nonviewers. Far better to have not shown any of it at all then salivate/stimulate our minds and then move it to the dark side of the moon. I don't care if it becomes more"racy". Move the hours back where they were. My wife doesn't watch it anyway so her delicate sensibilities won't be harmed. If viewers don't want to watch it then use the on/off switch.

I am in the Mountain Time Zone not in the stench of the Eastern Time Zone. How about some answers TCM? Why back up the schedule from about 8 PM to 12:15 AM? FOUR hours later!! Any remarks from the wussy TCM programmers?
-
Why oh why is "The story of Film" going to 10 PM next Monday and then to 12:15 AM in November????????????????????? I want an answer TCM??????????????????? Who's in charge?? I have a BIG COMPLAINT and I have never had one before!! Change the hours back to 8 PM or so!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the arrogant whiny "intellectual" complainers about the series can go suck eggs!! Change the times back!!
-
I agree. What's with The Story of Film going to the wee hours in November of 12:15 AM for me and 10 PM next Monday night??????????? What's going on TCM???????????????????????? I've never had a complaint about scheduling so far in all my years of viewing but now I have one Hell of a BIG COMPLAINT!!!!!!!!! What's going on TCM?????????? I want an answer and so does FarnhamScott!! Some of us meaning many of us have been enjoying the "Story" and those hours are way too late for us. Have the whiny "intellectual" complainers on this forum had their childish way??

Any list must include "The Grey Fox" with Richard Farnsworth and "My Darling Clementine".

Once one has seen Nights of Cabiria, one can absolutely not imagine any other actress in the role. What a glorious performance.
-
I do so like gazing at and contemplating the newspaper logo on her T-shirt. Quite wonderful.
-
I highly enjoyed "1957-1964: The Shock of the New, Modern". Greatly enjoyed seeing "Nights of Cabiria" again shown just before the new episode but did not like much the dark, morbid "Winter light" shown right afterwards. Cheers.

I love the word gadzooks!! Ranks right up there with deeleewhomper, thingamabopper, digoombinating, and mysticafyingly rabumbifunky. That's another way to formbumicky my feelings about whining and whiners. Let's just say I thought the original thread post was icky and call it a day.

What part of Turner """""CLASSIC""""" Movies don't you get?? CLASSICS! I watched The Scarlet Letter today and quite enjoyed it and Gish. Enjoyed Nosferatu last night as well. They are the only 2 movies I have watched in the past 24 hours. They are great movies. Do you expect TCM to only program for you personally? There are plenty of CLASSIC movies presented by TCM that I don't want to see or watch but I certainly don't whine about it. Pick and choose plus find other outlets in life. I am reading a fine history book right now that I took a quick break from. Plenty of other stuff to do other than get on and whine about programming. I thoroughly appreciate the WIDE variety of movies from many decades that TCM gives us the choice to view or not to view whether silent, talky, crummy, boring or utterly brilliant or somewhere in between. It is a tremendous smorgasbord of delight. Gadzooks!!

I had not realized that Trey Wilson had died so young. Only 40 a couple of years after making Raising Arizona. Sad. That convenience store chase scene was priceless.

Just watched "Raising Arizona" from 1987 by the Coen Brothers. Shown on PBS tonight. A crazy funny movie in the great tradition of the infamous Coen Brothers who certainly don't make mainstream products. Love the biker from Hell. Everybody is a cliche in the flic but they are well done. This movie is a classic to me.

Why did Dan and Alice never Kissed in 3:10 to Yuma?
