Thanks TCM for showing "Murder on the Blackboard" (1934) this morning - my introduction to the Edna May Oliver and James Gleason mystery/comedies. Also including the beautiful but apparently alcoholic Gertrude Michael....
Additional research shows this film is second in a trilogy of "Miss Hildegarde Withers" movies, the other two being "Penguin Pool Murder" and "Murder On A Honeymoon". Guess what? They are not available on Netflix!
Please consider showing all of these in a block, at least let's see "Penguin Pool"! If Murder on the Blackboard is any indication these are fine, light mysteries worthy of an airing.
