  1. WATERLOO BRIDGE (1931) is airing on TCM on August 20 as part of Mae Clarke's day during Summer Under The Stars.
  2. I haven't watched any of the Movie Camp commentaries. I haven't been avoiding them per se, but I guess he movies being shown so far haven't interested me (or I had seem them recently). I admit that I kind of miss the Essentials Jr. I'm a fan of Bill Hader and I liked a lot of the movies that aired when he was the host.
  3. Yes, definitely an ear-muffy look, just like the hairstyle of Princess Leia in the first STAR WARS movie.
  4. I wish that TCM was airing RIO GRANDE during John Wayne's day. I saw part of the movioe when it aired when Maureen O'Hara was Star of the Month, but I haven't seen it since then It was interesting seeing Claude Jarman Jr (best known as the kid from THE YEARLING) in an adult role. Boy, did his voice change.
  5. I think an argument can be made that Woody Allen's MATCH POINT could be classified as neo-noir.
  6. IN A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE Marlon Brando gives the impression of mumbling without actually mumbling His dialogue is clearly understood but a great many viewers of the movie come away from it thinking that he slurred his speech. Just another testament to the brilliance of Marlon Brando. I had a professor in college who saw him in STREETCAR on Broadway. She'd heard people comment about Brando's "mumbling," but she said seeing his performance as Stanley Kowalski was like watching a great Shakespearean actor in command of his craft and also seeing something viscerally real.
  7. I'm looking forward to all of the Godard movies. I missed MASCULIN-FEMININ the last time it aired on TCM.
  8. Is there truth to the story that Gary Cooper's daughter once spat at Patricia Neal? This would have been before they became friends, probably when Patricia Neal was involved with Gary Cooper.
  9. I only watched the first 15 minutes or so on TCM , but I didn't notice the frame-jumping. I have this movie on DVD.
  10. I haven't seen that short so long I felt a case of the heebie jeebies coming on. Now I'm okay. I really, really want them to bring the "damn good actress" clip back.

  13. You make a very excellent point. And the JAWS theme is melodically similar to the opening horns of "Don't Rain On My Parade."
  14. But your question mark should be on the left.
  15. Interesting. I thought ALUM might be an acronym. So why would anyone use alum to wipe one's butt? I'm even more confused . . .
  16. There were no horses in GREASE 2. You still haven't explained how you couldn't be paid any amount of money to attend a screening of the movie. I just can't grasp that. PS. What is ALUM anyway????
  17. Are we allowed to post in Hebrew or are non-Roman alphabet languages frowned upon?
  18. I'm surprised someone hasn't written JAWS: THE MUSICAL.
  19. Yes, Jeff Bridges is a very good actor even in his early work in movies like THE LAST PICTURE SHOW. I think he is the baby in THE COMPANY SHE KEEPS starring Jane Greer.
