I've never seen FRANCES, but I love Kim Stanley. I also love Nirvana's song "Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle." I miss the comfort in being sad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTrhzk4Ipog

Do I detect a bit of sarcasm in this comment, slaytonf?

Poster Art Not Quite Reflecting the Film Actual Content.

Princess Leia never showed any leg and cleavage as seen in this poster in the original STAR WARS. Luke Skywalker was never depicted open-shirted, revealing sculpted pecs and ripped abs. -

And minutes later, Martha is holding a gun on Sam and creating the story of how he died. -

I've never seen FOR ME AND MY GAL, but I recorded this one to watch later. I love SUMMER STOCK. -
That one would be KC CONFIDENTAL.
-
Haha! I see there's a whole thread dedicated to KC CONFIDENTAIL. I've never seen the movie but from the title I presume it's about a rabbit.

Dargo, are you referring to a former poster on the boards named SprocketMan? I think I remember some references to someone with that or a similar name.

Is SKIPPY (airing on 07/25/15) a TCM premiere?
-
Why, jamesjazzguitar, certainly no one who posts on these message boards could ever be accused of being harsh about anything, including spelling.

Great Movie Performances By Child Actors
HoldenIsHere replied to HoldenIsHere's topic in General Discussions
Early tomorrow morning (July 25, 2015) TCM is airing SKIPPY (1931), starring Jackie Cooper in the title role. I can't say if Cooper's performance is great (I haven't seen it yet), but the Academy was apparently impressed enough to nominate him in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category. He was nine years old at the time and remains the youngest person to be nominated for an Oscar in a Leading Role category. The movie was directed by Jackie Cooper's uncle Norman Taurog and also features Robert Coogan (brother of Jackie Coogan) as Skippy's friend Sooky. -

True, Augustus's belly was yellow, but, like all of the Sapsuckers, he was fierce. -
I thought it was a documentary. I feel like I was duped by Fritz Lang!

Ok, another technically ignorant question

"There's no such thing as a technically ignorant question, only technically ignorant answers." -
It needs to be repeated.

By the way, it's Sally Field, not Fields.

That Southern accent that Hayley Mills attempts in the clip is quite amusing.

MANNEQUIN is such a fun movie. And let's not forget the fun song "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship that is featured in MANNEQUIN. As Grace Slick says, uh sings: "Let 'em say we're crazy ." -
I wonder if the original poster is still on the message boards under a new name?

THE DOLLMAKER with Jane Fonda. My mother has this on VHS but I don't have a VCR! I also wish there was a DVD release. -
I really, really wanted to see JAWS on the big screen when it returned recently but I had personal committments both days that it was screened.
