  1. Remember you are still required to pay that tax to your state even though the merchant did not collect it.
  2. I agree. Visually there was not much of an age difference between Geraldine Page and Paul Newman in SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH.
  3. Hehe. The melody of "Islands In The Stream" was also used in "Ghetto Supastar" from the 1990s: Ghetto Supastar That is what you are. Comin' from afar. Reachin' for the stars . . .
  4. I can never get into SUMMERTIME, but I think I would have liked seeing Shirley Booth in a movie version of the play as written by Arthur Laurents.
  5. These are 2 that I'm really looking forward to as well.
  6. Yes, this isn't the first time the Maltin review has been for the wrong movie.
  7. On Robert Mitchum's Summer Under The Stars day I was surprised that NIGHT OF THE HUNTER wasn't on the schedule.
  8. If I recall KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN aired on TCM as the selection of one of the guest programmers.
  9. Did Veronica Lake have a ghost writer for this book?
  10. Kazoo music is very underated.
  11. They may even get the rights to NOTHING LASTS FOREVER again.
  12. SPOILER ALERT: Rosebud is * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * a sled.
  13. I've never seen it, but I've heard quite a few people say it was very painful to watch (because of the story).
  14. The book includes an account of her angrily ripping the ornaments off a Christmas tree because was displeased with them. I think maybe she (allegedly) even took an axe to the tree a la Joan Crawford.
  15. When TCM last aired it as one of the Essentials, THE WIND included some introductory comments from Lilian Gish.
  16. If they really would answer, yes, that would be nice.
  17. As in "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee, lousy with virginity . . ."
  18. Thanks, lavenderblue. Poor Valene sure went through a lot on that show
  19. An Overview in the TCM database is not proof that a movie has aired on TCM. BOOGIE NIGHTS also has an Overview but it's never aired on TCM. http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/6058/Boogie-Nights/ HOT SPELL has no TCM article which stromgly suggests that it has never aired on TCM.
  20. I've been wanting to THE BREAKING POINT for awhile. It's based on the same source material (novel by Ernest Hemingway) as TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT.
  21. I have to confess that I've never seen THE THIRD MAN. But I plan to one day. Honest.
  22. No apology necessary. I agree and appreciate your comments on the history of digital recording.
