After some extensive googling i have finally found the movie its called to hell and back about the life of Audie Murphy who plays himself in the movie. He also made a few more movies some Westerns and a civil war movie might check them out Cheers

Hi Guys This is a major long shot but I am after the title of a war movie that I have watched when I was younger. I can remember it was an older movie, not sure if it was in black and white, the soldier keeps getting promoted for is heroic actions one was he jumped onto a burning tank and used the machine gun to shoot at the charging enemy. Also as he got prompted he was able to have a bath and shave. That?s about all I can remember, keen to know if you guys might know the title? Or point me in the right direction Cheers
