The first movie is about an alien device that several countries are fighting over. Everyone believes it to be an weapon. When it is finally activated it turns out to that it deactivates all weapons.
The second movie is about a lady who is treated very badly by a small town. She leaves, marries well and then returns to the town seeking revenge. She is welcomed as a celebrity, no one realizes that she is the women they treated so badly years before. I don't remember the details other than the people get what they deserve and that she arrives in the town by train.
Both movies are black and white, well acted and well written. Thanks in advance for any help!
