anti-climatic for laughs...Murder by Death (even the fog is phoney)

I know why they ended The Next Voice You Hear... without a 'message', but when the minister says "we forgot it's Sunday, and God's resting" as a reason.,..that's beyond hokey

He was smart enough to retool his original pilot, Head of the Family, and step aside from the starring role:
RIP...and thanks for the laughter

ncidentally I think films with Billy Wilder scripts directed by Mitchell Leisen are better than films with Billy Wilder scripts directed by Billy Wilder.
Just my opinion, but I think you've been smoking the cheap stuff...
written and directed by Billy Wilder: The Apartment, Some Like It Hot, Double Indemnity, Sunset Blvd., The Lost Weekend , Ace in the Hole, The Seven Year Itch, Witness for the Prosecution, One, Two, Three Nice list of films that have remained impeccably entertaining and watchable over the years.

Sounds like The Trouble with Harry. A tramp walking thru the woods steals Harry's shoes and Mildred Natwick invites Edmund Gwenn over for tea and Blueberry Muffins ?
You know, I was going to start with 'autumn foliage' and 'paintings', but I thought that would be too obvious!
You got it! Your thread, lavenderblue

the first thing I thought of was the palindrome in the scene in Desk Set, where Kathryn Hepburn knows "Madam I'm Adam"" is an example. Otherwise, the only one I could think of spelled the same backwards was Live Evil (and no, I haven't seen it...)
