While other women were curling and waving, her straight angled bowl cut made Louise Brooks the model for the 'modern flapper' As Coffy, Pam Grier hid razors in her iconic curled afro, so nobody would mess with her hair the famous Bo Derek braids in 10 Bigger is better in Hairspray

Since I mentioned it in Classic Categories, I'm re-watching Brighton Beach Memories. Interesting how Neil Simon's 'remembrances' are so similar to Woody Allen's in Radio Days, right down to the aunts/cousins living with them (and those aunts dating a neighbor with problems).

the wall gets broken all through the film: Brighton Beach Memoirs Jonathan Silverman shares thoughts about his family with audience Alfie Michael Caine is always talking to the audience about, what else, his love life S In The Matchmaker, Shirley Booth (and Paul Ford and Anthony Perkins) talks to the audience on tv, there wasn't an episode of The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show when George didn't talk to the tv viewers and Jim Hutton always broke the wall to ask if we had figured out whodunit on Ellery Queen

I've watched it on Hulu...let's just say Carl Reiner was VERY smart to re-cast and re-tool the show...it's pretty awful. There's a colorized version of it on youtube...I tried posting the link here but the whole thing popped up...just search: Head of the Family 1961 Carl Reiner

Don't be silly....I'm older than the millennials, and even I know there are places like Willtv, MusicHQ and others to stream tv dvd rips...and of course, with a lot of iptv providers, you get hundreds of 24/7 streams of the oldies...nobody should sit through bad copies/ads. Yesterday I watched Once Upon a Time..In Hollywood and Peggy Sue Got Married using the same Nova apk. Tonight, I'm thinking Perry Mason..and I won't be wading through youtube.

Been watching Good Morning World (Roku channel)...up to episode 5. Cute comedy, with a very young Goldie Hawn and always wonderful Billy De Wolfe in supporting roles. They have quite a few oldies free-to-stream...Gidget, Ellen, Patty Duke Show, Head of the Class, Suddenly Susan....some like Dobie Gillis, NewsRadio only have a couple seasons.
