  3. sorry, I haven't been around...

okay, well...the film was released while the play was still on Broadway (it ran for over 1500 performances..);  the title character is an actress that went to MGM as a teen, and had a career that spanned over 60 years; she was featured on many movie mags in the 50s and early 60s, and her private life was hot gossip.   TCM is always giving her a 'day', but unfortunately, they haven't shown this film in years (which is why I probably shouldn't have picked it...).   All of the play, and about 90% of the film, is shot on one set, the apartment.  Dialogue is non-stop amd quite witty...play's author is a woman.

  7. I couldn't sleep last night, so I started watching a sit com called Occasional Wife on Uncle Earl's classic tv site...never saw or heard of it before, and I guess it ran for only one season.  Sort of cute---guy needs wife' for job advancement, and asks friend to fill the role.  Lots of recognizable costars, but the laugh track is a bit much at times.  Of course, the same concept was used in Picture Perfect.   Made me wonder about star Michael Callan---he looked like the perfect early/mid 60's star, wonder why he wasn't

  8. I wouldn't hold my breath for any streaming service.  If you want to use another 'cable like' streaming service for all channels, Hulu and YouTube TV offer tcm, probably others do too.   You can research IPTV services (some are afraid of them, I've used one for over 2 years) for under ten bucks, you get thousands of channels.  If you're looking for free, there are apks for free tv, but they are iffy...like Ola or Online TV.   ustvgo.tv  can be found on any browser, and there is a tcm stream there...I think it usually works, but I don't know for sure. , and free android apks like mobdro are fairly stable for streams of cable networks too.    There are lots of places out there to watch, but honestly, even though I know where they are, I use Hulu live because they include 2 coast streams, and you get all the 'catch up' found on the tcm app built into the service....I'm just lazy, and I like easy.
