  1. Amen to AndreaDoria's (June 2015) response to Sally Field's "Essentials" commentary regarding "The Picture of Dorian Gray." This is MGM at its absolute finest, Hurd Hatfield's emotionally atonal performance is exactly what the title character demands. The exquisitely eiree ambiance of this film has never been matched. Bravo to Reverend Osborne for helping Sister Sally see the light on this one. It's as four star Essential as you could possibly hope for.
  2. Much gratitude to other posters who have praised the extraordinary talents of dancer Bert May, who made many memorable appearances in countless classic musicals from the 40's to the 70's. This gentleman deserves more attention and recognition for his very distinctive contributions to film history. I agree with others who have posted about Mr. May that he should record his memories for posterity ASAP. He's had an incredible career and he worked with all of the greats.
