Perhaps slightly off topic and for this I apologize in advance (and intentionally not responded to any one particular poster) : absolutely will never understand how some people feel that only THEY can appropriate the "American" "patriot" moniker and position. My two oldest brothers served in Vietnam, I served in Desert Storm and my dad was a a WWII vet. Each one them incidentally was a lifelong, die-hard, Democrat. As a gay man, I did have to serve 'in silence' but , thank God, younger guys like me no longer have to. Apparently, even into the 21st century, some people still cling to the strange notion that only right leaning Republicans can be patriotic, or even American. And, even beyond this, it doesn't matter one bit to me what Fonda's (or any other actor's) politics are. I'm watching a MOVIE and a performance. Not real life. Now, having said this, I will say that I probably share very very few of Fonda's politics, but there is no other actress of her generation that I would rather watch. She is first and always a great actress.
