  1. If I were the Dems I would forget another impeachment or the 25th Amendment. Criticize Trump, but otherwise let him twist slowly in the wind.
  2. The original title was Get Ready for Socialism with Obama and the Democrats.
  3. I wouldn't call it bad, just underwhelming. And the last twenty minutes or so is kind of muddled. Redgrave can't seem to make up his mind whether to strangle Joan or not. Then it turns out he's not really a psycho but just has the usual "bad mommy" problems. That's a bit of a letdown after all the build up as Redgrave as severely damaged. Maybe they wanted the usual happy Hollywood ending. The film's visual are good and Lang adds a few nice touches, but that doesn't make up for the overall mediocrity of the movie. IMO it's a few steps below Scarlet Street and The Woman
  4. Lindsey used Trump for his own purposes and now he no longer needs Donny. Likely one of the few times that Trump has been out manipulated.
  5. To each their own. It is true that in NC it is a pretty narrow margin and that there are still lots of red in the state, but I still think it's mostly purple. And we'll see how 2022 goes with one open Senate seat up for grabs. Last night was a significant victory for Dems and gives them control, though very thin, of the Senate. Sounds good to me.
  6. We might have had one had he not turned out to be an adulterer. That didn't help. Maybe we'll have one in 2022. I doubt that the GOP legislature considers Cooper a token governor. He usually gives as good as he gets. And we no longer have U.S. Senators who are racists. And while Donny won NC he did so with a smaller margin than in 2016. Time will tell.
  7. Possibly, though I'd give him more of a chance than Warnock.
  8. Personally I thought Bowie was mostly straight and used the androgyny thing as more of a publicity strategy than anything else. So by the public he was likely seen as gay, hence the pun. Today I doubt RS would use the word fairy as it did back in 1972 or '73. Since Bowie was born in London, he wouldn't be anything cross the Mersey, but that is irrelevant to the joke too.
  9. Indeed. Two very different kinds of Democrats. Back then Warnock wouldn't have been able to get into the meeting hall. Yellow dog Dems usually referred to voters more than to politicians.
  10. Yep. Give you two guesses and the first one doesn't count. This is also another super spreader event as most people aren't wearing masks. I have to admit this was more interesting than listening to congress critters drone on for hour after hour. I don't care how counter-intuitive it sounds, I swear Soros is behind this.
  11. We'll see. If demographics are a factor, maybe it will, though that may take time and things rarely run in a straight line. To me NC is purple but leaning to the red. I don't think it's as red as it was in the days of Jesse Helms, thank goodness. You have the same divide here as in a lot of states-- urban v. rural. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2022 when Donny is not on the ballot.
  12. Me neither. Two Democratic senators from Georgia. It's 1950 all over again.
  13. Say bye bye Mitch. The Dems have been talking for so long about how demographic changes would lead to Dem victories and it not happening very often that it got to be like the boy crying wolf. Last night the wolf came down to Georgia.
  14. He's a pretty shrewd operator, so I don't think he'll have too many problems being elected Minority leader. I hope he suffers in every minute of that position.
  15. Could be. I'm just enjoying the spectacle. This reminds me of the 1968 Columbia takeover with the photo of the students in the dean's office, one of them smoking a stogie. Then a few days later, life goes on. It is enjoyable to watch the goobers in the GOP see their die hard idiocy turned against them. All the cops had to do was pretend the Trump protesters were BLM protesters, then the skull cracking and club swinging would have started at the get go.
  16. For American anti-Americans like myself this is a red-letter day and laff riot all at the same time. ****hole nation revealed as a ****hole nation in front of everybody. Super sweet. OTOH all the talking heads talking about sedition, rebellion, revolution--c'mon man, this is just a bunch of suckers and losers going a little crazy. It will be under control shortly. Chill. Enjoy the show.
  17. When you go out on a limb sometimes it breaks. I haven't lived in Georgia for many years and I guess my GA predictive skills are pretty rusty. I feel especially sad for Mitch. Oh (the lack of) the humanity.
  18. Wake up Nip. Valerie Jarrett will be in control of EVERYTHING.
  19. I don't know much about cars and gas, but I don't put much mileage on my car so Ingles' gas works for me. They have a fairly large station with about a dozen or so pumps. There is a gas station just across the street from Ingles that was there long before. Still in business and of course they have the same exact prices as Ingles.
  20. I'm a Notre Dame fan, but so far they just can't beat the big boys. Maybe Swinney shouldn't have put Ohio State at #11. Oops. NC did pretty well, though they lost by two (late) touchdowns. They did have some of their best players opt out of the game for the NFL draft.
  21. I will go out on a limb and say both Republicans will win by at least 5 points.
