Pizza and beer do go together. I bought several big slices of Sbarros a few days ago. Good, but not as tasty as they used to be.

One of the funniest and best gags from The Honeymooners. I once saw a tee shirt in a store window that had a picture of Norton with the quote If pizzas were manhole covers, the sewer would be a paradise. I wish I had bought it.

I couldn't recall if I had seen Berlin Express before or not. It took a while, but I started to recognize the film. Saw it before, but only once and that was a few years ago. Mostly good, though there are a few dry patches. The nigh time "tour" of Frankfurt was certainly a highlight. The we'll all get along now theme seems pretty funny now. And listening to parts of the narration you'd almost think the Germans bombed their own cities. Of course it was the Allies who killed hundreds of thousands of German civilians by bombing the cities.

That's a very impressive Raccoon resume. I hadn't seen them in years when I found them on YT several years ago and watched all the classic 39. They're still hilarious. If nobody looks very closely maybe you can wear a raccoon cap to Davy Crockett events. I call you killer because you slayyyy me.

Something similar happened to me when a friend and I were planning to see Barbarella. I can't recall who changed those plans. Likely a friend of my parents. I think I saw DGATBM in one of the local movie theaters. This was before the multiplexes and all the local theaters were big old things left over from the studio era and were rarely filled. One time two of my friends and I somehow convinced one of the mothers to take us to the drive in to see a triple bill of re-released Corman Poe films. For that she should have been nominated Mother of the Year.

I didn't know them very well, so there was nothing to fear.

I remember there were twin brothers in my high school who were close to their parents and liked to go to family movies. Of course they couldn't miss The Love Bug. Count me out.

I might smack her back. First I'd want to find out if her cakes and pies were really that good.

I don't think I've seen Humoresque in at least fifteen years. A wonderfully fine example of the higher Hollywood hokum. I'd rather see Garfield as an up and coming boxer than an up and coming violinist, but no biggie. I felt sorry for Johnny having to come home after messing around with Joan and then have mommy drop a jumbo sized guilt trip on him. No wonder he got his own place. I also thought Joan looked good in her peepers. They are a wonderful counterpoint to being a common frump airhead from Texas. And it's hard to beat that finale of the long walk into the water as the orchestra plays on. Das Wassertod. I truly enjoyed this flick. I got a laugh out of Oscar Levant saying he admired John Wayne's subtlety. Don't we all?

If it's got Shirley Temple as a tyke I haven't seen it.

Now we know that Sam Spade was wrong and that the police didn't apprehend Gutman, but he escaped to Europe. Entertaining flick for sure, but it sort of seems like it is made up out of parts of other, better movies. And wasn't Cotten's character in the Third Man a writer of potboiler westerns, not mysteries. I mainly watched it because I'd only seen it once or twice before and that was a while back.

The only way I'd watch Annie is if someone held a loaded gun to my head and even then I'd have to think it over.

I'll probably miss Itchy and Scratchy most of all.

I have zero respect for J. Edgar, but the idea that he dressed up in women's clothing is just an urban legend. He was involved in enough shady activities that would make transvestism look like a minor thing.

A trio where Lee Van Cleef is the handsome dude. I don't think any of them are particularly bad looking, though they're not matinee idols either. Their looks surely helped in playing bad guys.

Yeah, talk about mr. obvious. I think Crowther was one of those movie critics who also thought he was also a part-time moral guardian. I don't think he was all that bad, of course it was a different time. I might have read about one-eyed Jack and likely forgot it. In his 1960s roles in TV westerns he also sported very extensive eyebrows. They made him look not so much mean as kind of weird.

Payne also acted kind of dumb after Elam was shot. He keeps looking in that direction instead of minding his own beeswax. One cop seemed to notice, but nothing came of it. I can' remember which one of three Eddie said was so ugly that he made Charles Bronson look like Cary Grant, but frankly no one could make Bronson look like Grant. I don't know that Bosley Crowther was totally wrong. While KCC is way better than some heist movies, it's still basically another gangster flick, though with good direction and script.

I remember going to see Little Fauss and Big Halsy with a high school pal back in the day. I don't recall why we chose that movie. It wasn't all that interesting, but we did meet two girls who were even less interested in motorcycles than we were.
