two guys (military captains) two girls in a house. it was near the end of a war mightve been the fall of soviet union. one guy always had a cigar in his mouth. other guy had stacks of photographs organized in different categories i.e. cars, motorcycles, trains, boats. he would slam them on the table after reading the back which had the model specifics. i think they were avoiding battle in the company of these two beautiful women. a t the end the two guys ran through gunfire to ask if their sevice had ended they were taken to a room and executed. this movie wasnt dramatic or emotional but it was so good for some reason. couldve been french too. it was played during a short film marathon on tcm.
