I hate that movie. the highlight is Edward van sloan saying "she was when she died a hundred years ago" which is what you feel you've just experienced watching it. her intended victim is hotter than her.

More 'Shirley Temple' films, please!!!!
NipkowDisc replied to SamTherapy's topic in General Discussions
some of them Shirley Temple films have been colorized. -
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House was colorized and syndicated and I enjoyed it immensely especially when Muriel was laying out the colors. the same for Chain Lightning. I enjoyed it more seeing Brennan shoot up to the stratosphere in the experimental JA-3 that was colorized. I loved the delightful blue tint colorizing gave the meteor dust through the cockpit window.

please if you can air the colorized versions of Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House and Chain Lightning. it could change minds. advertise it as colorized night. "they'll see and they'll know and they'll say why she wouldn't even colorize a fly."

some movies shot in color look kinda colorized. tell me Life with Father shot in technicolor doan look colorized.

the spirit of st. louis -
I always liked her and thought she was very pretty, in high plains drifter she is the demure innkeepers wife but is a bystander and one of the consciences of the town of lago. clint really gets her going with "well lady, you flatter yourself."

I like the way valentine dyall handled the snotty Julie harris in The Haunting.

I'm opened-minded to watching it but seems to me that everything you say is exactly who today's Hollywood will hate it! it's too old school.

this is an outrage!...what about Skelton Knaggs?!!!
-
exactly.

mary poppins aint tough. lets see her use her magic and turn herself into a 50 foot woman.
-
no John Wayne? whatta pathetic disconnect because Duke is popular even with millennials who were raised properly. they left out James Dean! that tells you all you need to know about the schtootzes at starz.

Godfather II in cuba.

watched it last nite, a free on demand offering. lousy even though directed by budd boetticher. robert ryan and rock hudson are the hammond brothers returning confederate soldiers to texas along with buddy tiny played by james arness. predictable story with robert ryan going bad. ryan was always playing low down killers. goes into town and tells a judge he wants to make money and gets introduced to carpetbagger raymond burr. all burr does is play cards and take julie adams for granted. labels ryan a welcher for not antying up in a timely fashion. abducts brother neal rock hudson and tortures him in a barn but not for the card money but rustling commited by ryan. ryan shows up to save brother neal from sadistic burr. burr gets flogged and pulls a gun and ryan ends their acquaintanceship. major hammand makes it clear he wants to build an empire. some events go undetected like ryan shooting the helpful judge when it was dandy played by dennis weaver. war pal tiny escorts him out of jail at gunpoint to avoid lynching and asks his old friend what changed him. ryan answers him by stating the obvious and gunning down a man he went through the war with. for some reason major hammond keeps visiting some hispanic buddy south of the border maybe for backup. brother neal and dad john mcintire show up to return him for texas justice but he gets gunned down. robert ryan was a great actor but you wonder what made this confederate veteran so willing to go bad as ryan seems kinda affable throughout. his family thinks burr's wife made him go bad but it's his idea but that never is made clear to the hammond family. great visuals and technicolor but the movie is a pos.

I'll prove it. the next 2 discs I'm planning to watch on my little personal 7" Sylvania DVD player are Lust for a Vampire, one of the hammer karnstein trilogy films with imo kim novak lookalike yutte stensgaard and the british horror sci-fi movie Xtro. now wouldn't those 2 make an excellent tcm underground double feature? tcm will never show such fare because they are slackers feeding us the same ole slop from their stasis frozen film coffer where time stands still. but we can download and we can burn and that's why they're beaten! fletcher Christian's sill free! that's why they hate him! hate his friends!...and that's why they're beaten! viewers can still burn!

The Predator should had taken a different plot route.
NipkowDisc replied to hamradio's topic in General Discussions
I've hated these predator movies since the first one. they pit American fighting men against an overwhelmingly unstoppable alien monster who can beat the sheet outta humans. I hate that. how about something more titillating like predator meets Ginormica? -
there is only one Dr. Richard Kimble and David Janssen is he!
