I must disagree. strong 2nd right behind Flynn is sean connery completely believable as an aging middle aged Robin in Robin & Marian. -

Darrin McGavin as one-man supernatural sleuth Carl Kolchak. -
I doan know if anyone else has ever noticed it... but there are alotta times on kung fu when david carradine is playing caine as the shaven headed shaolin disciple and he looks a lot like his brother keith.

I doan get it. chekov and terrell beam down to ceti alpha 5 believing it to be 6 and find khan and his people...but how? khan later informs them that they are on ceti alpha 5 because 6 exploded shifting the orbit of 5 and so on..... but when the Reliant entered the ceti alpha system shouldn't their scans have revealed to them that the system was one planet short???... so how could they possibly have mistook planet 5 for planet 6? granted, kirk probably didn't inform starfleet that he was gonna disposit psychopathic khan and his people on ceti alpha 5 but still... how could a starship bridge crew have miscounted the proper number of planets in that system? stupid, just like it was stupid having chekov realize what was going on when he saw botany bay...he wasn't added until the 2nd season. so much dumbness because schtootzes like nicholas meyer get overblown and hafta start screwing up established canon... of course it's all academic now because the star trek franchise lies essentially destroyed because they hadda push the science fiction humanistic BS instead of sticking with the proper character interactions and an action-adventure approach and so they eventually ruined the whole thing... so how about star trek 7: the grasp of janice?...janice lester escapes from the nuthouse and turns herself into a 50 foot woman!

who didn't like Burt Reynolds? a real man's man.

I agree with alotta that. Streisand is a callous monster and you actually feel sorry for madeline kahn as Eunice. but that dirello street locale takes the cake. ain't exactly fisherman's wharf.

Spotlight: The Black Experience in Film
NipkowDisc replied to misswonderly3's topic in General Discussions
the only 2 decent films listed in my opinion are a raisin in the sun and claudine because the film sets African-americans in believable real life situations and it is a slight to black America that there were not more films like those. -
yes, it was. I first saw it decades ago on pay cable. after the girl comes on to nunzio she wraps her legs around him and does what girls do...but moments later she starts crying and yells for nunzio to leave as he had stopped by to make a grocery delivery. in the film she's a catholic girl doancha know.

a funny flick if you like musicologist conventions. I doan hold with dismissing ryan O'Neal's performance as a cary grant impression because O'Neal seems very good. when howard bannister decides to walk away after the TV catches fire and everything else catches, he shoulda stuck around and embarrassed Streisand by pulling off the towel when she came back in. that woulda taken some of the cutesey-utsey out of her.

Joan Crawford Directed by Steven Spielberg?
NipkowDisc replied to sewhite2000's topic in General Discussions
oh yeah. saw it years ago. she pays somebody to give her their optic nerves but just for 12 hours of sight. she gets impatient, rips off the bandages which begins the 12 hours of sight...then darn it there's a power blackout and it's night too. she stumbles around for the 12 hour blackout then daylight...and her sight gives out!... and she falls out a window. -
I always associate open refrigerators with equatorial Africa because of them. a nice lady.
