  1. svengoolie is not funny, clever or anything else. just dumb.
  2. we like our heroes a bit on the dark side.
  3. but he hamstrings his own films by not having the dialogue spoken in English which is truly dumb.
  4. doan look for tcm to show the doris day vehicle WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT? from 1965. it's one of those movies tcm won't procure anymore than they will... HOT SPELL
  5. yeah, american society wasn't quite as much in the gutter then.
  6. boy, does it ever. tcm is gonna show what they wanna show and that is an end to the matter. we doan count! we should but we don't
  7. for my money it is 1981's Death Hunt starring Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson and Carl Weathers. a great score too by Jerrold Immel.
  8. well, it's up to tcm to increase their political content with airing say the 1977 ABC-TV miniseries Washington: Behind Closed Doors with a standout performance by Jason Robards as President Richard Monckton and Cliff is in that too or Will: G. Gordon Liddy with a dynamic performance by Robert Conrad. and doan hand me the crap that tcm doan show television stuff as they have on occasion (when they dam well feel like it) shown TV content like Steven Spielberg's Duel. tcm is a liberal outfit and doan wanna show political stuff with dynamic conservative characters (especially if they carry the day) like louise fletcher's nurse ratched they like a rigged game. never mind if the above mentioned stuff is well-acted and good drama.
  9. what a great tribute to the late Cliff Robertson if someone could find and sew together any unused footage of cliff as joe cantwell from The Best Man.
  10. what about them Doris Day-Rock Hudson flicks yesterday.
  11. I thought this thread might be about Edgar G. Ulmer.
  12. always the eternal optimist I will say this... it could be worse... a remake of Gypsy.
  13. liberals have been running Hollywood since the old studio system ended back in the 70s and are responsible for the degradation of recent decades including but not limited to the death of cartoon animation as an artform. liberals have undone it all and if not certainly most of Hollywood's 20th century legacy.. tcm shows colorized prints of king long and the thing from another world and then stop. they politically won't show anything beyond seven days in may, advise and consent, the best man and all the president's men and spend 24/7 pretending as if today's garbage is on a par with the great Hollywood films they worship so much. lets have some diversity around here with at least one showing of Will: G. Gordon Liddy featuring a standout performance by Robert Conrad. how does tcm plan to win back the droves who are leaving and have no interest in wine and pleasure cruises? "you know looking around at your people I get the sense that you're not going to last very long." -yul brynner "there is a certain fatalism." -max von sydow -the ultimate warrior
  14. all these hoy-faloy Hollywood liberal icons have forgotten what the public wants and are going off every which way on self-ingratiating vanity projects. Spielberg wants to remake west side story? why? Spielberg has been wallowing in his own fame for so long his thoughts are now blanked up. let mister rubbery ET babies do a remake of Xtro.
  15. Mary Carlisle was in a movie tcm ran a week or so ago at six in the morning, dead men walk with George Zucco in a dual role as her father and dead satanist vampire uncle. also recently shown was The Steel Lady as a tribute to the passing of tab hunter. it was produced by Grant Whytock, Mary Carlisle's actual uncle.
  16. you mean the Korean spam, a much loved perennial favorite?
  17. give the great man Heston is due. doan cheat him because he became a conservative.
