that tcm will not or cannot stop. -
a sick long disconnected Hollywood now manned by millennial demographic caterers just cannot accept that their industry is no longer... "on the cutting edge of societal evolution." -rush limbaugh

not me. I download everything I want and put it on a disc, either a DVD or a CD. of course you gotta know about formats and resolutions and what to convert to what.

I just use my shirt.

the elitist culture hoy-faloys think their cute. how about some rare Gerald Fried or Gil Melle music? that what people are really waiting for.

slacker weisenheimer 'cinemaphiles' in the end doan prosper.

a perfect example of tcm management's disdain for the wants and desires of their viewership. it's what they want and not we that matters. that is why I bought my Sylvania 7" portable DVD player... my schedule is... 1. Welcome to Hard Times (1967) 2. The Steel Lady (1953) missed it because tcm likes to get cute with early morning scheduling. 3. The Questor Tapes 4. Caligula (1979) tcm's cuteness will be matched by my greater resourceful cuteness.

I just think maria schell is hot.

they have never shown caltiki the immortal monster, the flame barrier or any of the K. Gordon Murray Mexican horror imports like Curse of the Crying Woman some of those Mexican horror films have extraordinary black & white cinematography. by my personal standards of excellence tcm has missed the mark greatly.

requiem for a cheapskate -
I was gonna grab it on my vcr but forgot about it then I read some reviews saying it was a decent little flick so found it on archive dot org and got it. I will burn it on a disc and watch it that way. I doan expect to see tcm schedule it again for a good long time because they probably had to get the print back to the source to prevent a hefty rental fee.

you know, I have a little die-cast 1960 impala and it's the same metallic blue as in the colorized print.

well, tcm has shown at least once both a colorized The Thing from Another World and King Kong BUT STOPPED when colorizing fell into ill repute with the thought police black & white purists. -
last nite watched carnival of souls on my little 7" sylvania portable DVD player and it was quite enjoyable colorized not just black & white. made it better it did but it is the kinda film you wanna analyze afterwards. it's more I think than just about a young demure babe who doan realize she is dead from a horrible car drowning accident. that's part of it but not the whole deal. somehow she has forced her way back to physical life because of an unwillingness to accept her death and eternal fate. during her first psychoanalytical interview she is asked if she has always tried to avoid the company of others to which she says she doan know. she turns down an offer by the pastor to meet his congregation wanting nothing more than to pump out the pipes. she is back from the dead but has not learned her lesson. this irks some of the dead in the dry salt lake bed behind that long unfrequented amusement pavillion. this one phantom guy haunts her when she is not fading in and out of non-existence. she has cheated her way back to physical life having squandered while geniunely alive so many missed opportunities to have interacted with her fellow humanity and now has incensed the dead by her continued aloofness by obstinately forcing her way back to life. this will not do! so she drives her 1960 impala into a gas station to get her transmission looked at and has another dream forwarning her of her inescapable fate. she gets chased outta the pavillion by the phantom whitefaces she has offended. (including herself) she falls, is surrounded by their mocking visages and bye bye. the pastor who fired her and the local sheriff ponder her disappearance. her time was up coinciding with the raising of the car with her drowned corpse inside. the moral: she squandered a whole lifetime keeping to herself and no 2nd chances.

I am not interested in the nudity and sex but just the drama. I have not watched it yet so have no idea how good or bad it is. besides McDowell there is also john Gielgud, peter o'toole and helen mirren. I wanna see why these greats appeared in it so will just grin and bear and fast forward past all the guccione depravity. (at least the parts I doan like.)

Hurt was a great actor but always had a sickly look to him. how much makeup did he really need for nineteen eighty-four?

I have it burned on to a disc but I wanna watch a few things first before I get to it.

but there's the thing.... you have to buy DVR equipment. no thanks.
