svengoolie is an idiot and a slacker! no true space cadet TV aficionado would ever do what he did or allow it... after the metalunan spaceship hits the ocean and explodes we then see against a yellowish background in a deep technicolor red 'The End'. svengoolie's cruddy show omits the closing cast credits against a moving star field. that's why cable TV needs guys like me hosting these things. I would never cut out the closing credits like that not with that nifty moving star field. that's the kind of thing true space cadets will sing out about.

the new star wars mess is star wars dumbified for iphone-toting millennials. most of it's unacceptability is being echoed by star wars' older fans. so now disney productions, kathleen kennedy and jj abrams have done to star wars what paramount, rick berman, brannon braga, roberto d'orci and jj abrams (there's that name again) have previously wrought upon star trek...they have destroyed it. the truth is star trek NEVER recovered after paramount insisted on knocking off kirk in star trek generations back in 1994...just like disney giving the shaft to clayton moore because of the infamous Legend of the Lone Ranger with klinton spilsbury...whiched bombed of course. the same thing...which is disregard for continuity and established canon whether star trek or star wars. no space cadet worth his cathode tube would pull stupid cr ap like this. whether it's killing kirk or disrespecting the late clayton moore. it's all rather dumb and perpetrated by prize stupes who are usually quite unfamiliar with what they are destroying. it makes about as much sense for george lucas to let disney and kathleen kennedy ruin star wars as it would be for ridley scott to let jj abrams direct his next prometheus installment. so... re-edit the force awakens, I say! get rid of the tomboy, the black stormtrooper and the vader wannabe millennial and just leave the footage with hamill, fisher and ford and the multi-million dollar disney eye candy and then you will have a watchable film or just re-shoot the whole dam thing. the price of mutilating TV and film legacies like star trek and star wars to appeal to the millennial demographic is too high but doan expect studio stupes to ever realize that.
