  1. with one flew over the cuckoo's nest followed by dog day afternoon. I was even moved to forego ghost of frankenstein on me-tv. now THAT'S intelligent programming... and high time too!
  2. I must admit to not watching the whole film in many years (I first saw it on the cbs late movie) but what is it that happens to neely after she collapes or passes out in the alley? the film ends with barbara parkins getting off the bus in a wintry landscape that I guess is vermont. but what is it exactly that happens to neely in the alley? did she croak?
  3. everything since Aladdin outta disney looks like it was animated by ritilin-impelled hyperactive people...and they're shameless plagiarizers as well. the lion king was stolen from osamu tezuka's jungle emperor otherwise known to some of us as 'kimba the white lion'.
  4. only part I ever liked was a hot patty duke in her undegarments.
  5. I can't wait for the next showing of Doctor Zhivago. I love that train ride. what's the name of that place? yuri-atin?
  6. no more voice-over intros for often repeated films is good! better that way.
  7. I always thought the dolls were the three babes.
  8. the familiar stranger might be it. on that cover margaret colin does look a tad like lynda carter. maybe all these years I mistook margaret colin for lynda carter.
  9. I always getta kick outta this one. paul newman back from korea and his dad the colonel properly proud and grateful and then the big surprise! great drama. an interesting watch throughout and I suppose you can make a case for the torments of psychological brainwashing but I can't help feel there is an intent on the part of the filmmakers to excuse or at least minimize collaboration with the enemy.
  10. cary, doris and yogi, whatta team!
  11. and I'll tell ya somethin' else... just my opinion but rita tushingham's appearance (face) is an insult to julie christie's beauty. doan mean to sound harsh but that's how I see it.
  12. I just think poor confused lara shoulda appreciated her true knight in shining armor, kamerovsky, more than she did.
  13. he was a good guy. many years ago WWOR-TV channel 9 out of nyc had an Adventures of Superman episode marathon and Jack Larson was kind enough to personally host it and introduce every ep. http://www.imdb.com/news/ni59024917?pf_rd_m=A2FGELUUNOQJNL&pf_rd_p=1920909362&pf_rd_r=0SDDRAAYEJHX8PAXP3V8&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_t=15061&pf_rd_i=homepage&ref_=hm_nw_tp1
  14. woulda co-starred with jane fonda in walk on the wild side instead of laurence harvey?
  15. ROBOT VS THE AZTEC MUMMY might be the only K. Gordon Murray english-dubbed mexican import tcm has in it's coffer.
  16. need some help finding a tv-movie starring Lynda Carter. it coulda been one of them lifetime network moment-of-truth movies but I'm not sure. I can't quite determine what movie this was from her IMDb filmography. she plays the widowed mother of two teenage boys and one day she sees her supposedly deceased husband getting into a car in a parking lot. she finds out that hubby, a military officer, has faked his own death. it's quite well-acted and lynda carter is completely believable as the shocked and dismayed widow. anyone know what film this is?
  17. the invisible boy despite great production values is by far one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen. philip abbott's dialogue is laughable. the scene with invisible timmy bothering the scientists at the table you doan wanna miss. the movie is completely idiotic and I always watch it for it's very entertaining lameness. the invisible boy is so awful it makes tobor the great look like a masterpiece because at least that film's makers took the subject matter seriously.
  18. imo the conqueror is much better than that. I've seen it and maybe they shoulda given Boyd the lead role.
  19. and that film is probably the source of the duke/pilgrim association.
  20. admittedly, I might sit through alexander the great. it's no spartacus but it is somewhat well-acted.
  21. robert rossen's boring alexander the great and later on two charlie chans. terrific. they couldn't have given us a sunday primetime showing of bye bye braverman? not watchin' tcm tonite for sure.
