My point is that anyone can be one of those things, legal, illegal, citizen, Mayflower descendent, American Indian, whatever. There's no point in muddying the serious discussion about immigration with terms like those.seeing what has been the most negative aspects of what is historically predominately male human behavior in the context of male-female equality I think is kinda strange.

It's important to note, I think, that any group, whether legal, illegal, or finagled by Boss Tweed, has an equal capacity for having within it some people who are not nice. It muddies the very real issue to generalize about a particular group
Btw, I remember seeing an interesting newspaper front page in London many years ago. There were many stories on that front page -- one was related to British Moslems raising money in England for terrorist groups in the Middle East; another, unrelated article, was about UK Irish going to New York to raise funds for the IRA.
I be totally against deportation except in the case of illegals who are murderers, rapists and drug pushers. the women and children can stay as long as they want whether they have citizen status or not because to send women and children back into the hell they flee from is both unconscionable and wholely unchristian.

A couple of years back, TCM did show at least twelve hours of the silent & early talking Our Gang shorts during a tribute to Hal Roach. I think I remember that some people complained--a lot.
I remember that. I watched it and enjoyed it very much but tcm has yet to repeat such a feat.
here with the passing of Jean Darling and Dickie Moore they have such an opportunity...
but they won't.
pardon me for saying this but I find it difficult to not feel disappointed by their lack of attentiveness to the historic golden age relevance of the passing of moore and darling..
but if tcm doan feel motivated to bust a gut to get a hold of some little rascals shorts to pay a proper and deserved homage to moore and darling...
well, there it is.

our gang belongs to the later and for the most part unfunny m-g-m shorts produced by that fella mcgowran. in one short you have these two girls saying "Hal Roach presents his rascals." so the little rascals is not that altogether delegitimate. I watched tons of those little rascals shorts weekday afternoons on WPIX Channel 11 out of nyc as a kid.
so tcm is gonna run some films with Dickie Moore like sergeant york? 24 hours of the little rascals would be better but what do I know? this is why great self-professed cinemaphiles like tcm should go right to the most knowledgeable source.
couch potatoes like myself who gawked at the idiot box hours and years on end when we were kids. we know.
the best way to pay tribute to Dickie Moore, and Jean Darling for that matter, is with a 24 hour little rascals marathon.
tcm needs me to tell them that?

doan like this saturday's tcm selections at all so I'll take a primative fish's blood turning Franz into a neanderthal.

okay, donald trump is outwardly egotistical and doesn't attempt to hide it. he believes that what he sees in washington dc is gross fiscal incompetence and mismanagement and his background lends legitimacy to his conclusions. people at least in the gop voting electorate are agreeing with him with more support to come? I think so. some other candidates wanna trash him. for what? highlighting their party's incompetence? trump started out with the assumption that gop voters would agree with his assertions. he is being proven right. he is often times crass, caustic and ugly but if people are concluding that beyond his personal bluster that he is 100% right...
well, there it is.

I think next wednesday's gop debate is gonna be a laugh riot. I think foul-ups like bush and rand paul are gonna try to go to town on trump. hey, they have to. jebby the golden boy is now in single digits so it's gonna be alotta fun I think. might even get ugly.
finally, something good to watch on TV again.just breaking, perry's pullin' out so he'll be missin' out on all the frolicky fun next week.

and it is fair! eminently so. fair because this displaced humanity is a direct result of the syrian civil war whose main provocateur isis we have been told can be waited on for years to be dealt with.
so in the interim, chaos and destabilization will continue so I say we should take them in. -

we certainly should get one but I expect we won't.
especially considering that the little rascals is lightyears ahead comedy-wise of anything being made today.

Can't help but comment on seeing the word 'Honesty' crop up a bit in these posts....is this a standard we really want to set?
In my experience 'honesty' and 'sincerity' are all too easily Faked.
But more importantly, are these traits that actually serve US .. the constituency ? ...If FDR had been more open and honest and sincere...how much longer would it have taken to win WWII? If we hadn't been able to arm Great Britain or had replacement battleships under construction prior to Pearl Harbor? How much longer to fight? How many more would have died?
Personally I think ability and foresight (vision) to be the traits to look for....

that's real big of the potus to take in 10,000 refugees next year. why not now?
after all, his weakness in dealing with the situation in syria and isis is DIRECTLY responsible for this refugee tidal wave pouring into europe.
