  1. agreed. March's outstanding performance makes one look past the silly make-up.
  2. The 1932 Reuben Mamoulian and the 1968 Dan Curtis versions are the best. Spencer Tracy gave it a good try but he never could do an english accent unfortunately

  5. it's my favorite version too. and the fredric march version is pretty good as well. Palance as Hyde looks like Liberace in that shot.
  6. I think Williams best score is jaws. got 'em an oscar in '75. so many great scores to his credit like the towering inferno.
  7. would you have any good cuts of ave caesar from quo vadis?
  8. Welcome to Hard Times at two-thirty this afternoon and later on tonite There Was a Crooked Man.
  9. imagine a cgi 007 with connery voicing him. you know, that gym fight scene at the beginning of never say never again was the film's highlight especially when 007 throws his urine in the guy's face. but all throughout that film connery kept reminding me of a kind gentle Fred Astaire. ya gotta love it when Q says "I hope we're going to have some gratuitous sex and violence" and connery replies... "I certainly hope so too."
  10. you know who would make a great silas marner?... Patrick Stewart!
  11. picture jean simmons saying "oh fiddle-dee-dee" I agree! jean simmons was a lot more prettier than vivien leigh but I doan know.
  12. audio/video desyncronization? ain't no excuse for something like that from an outfit like tcm. none... slackers! I started too watch that but the thought of carl denham as a construction worker turned me off.
  13. maybe the UCLA film Archive oughta start a cable channel.
  14. tcm doan show either Hatter's Castle or botany bay. the former with mason and Deborah kerr and the latter with mason and alan ladd.
  15. today's Hollywood wouldn't diss the duke. they're fair.
  16. that is a surprise...have they shown it even one time since?
  17. check out the IMDb. a new film about blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. it's got actors playing John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Edward G. Robinson in it. maybe it'll be fun.
