28 years of Republican rule plus another 7 years of Republican obstruction.
What else did you expect?
nafta and gatt lie at the feat of the gop of course...
also Clinton and organized labor for not stopping it.
did Clinton try and stop it? no. he signed on to it, didn't he, darkblue? did organized labor urge him to stop it?
I doan know. you tell me. I thought ralph nader and pat buchanan were dead on right more than 20 years ago...
so doan hit me with that.
like I said, trump has said nafta was wrong. nafta, gatt and this whole one-world free trade with china no matter what policy that Clinton coulda opposed but did not. right?

If he was tired of making films he was tired! I hope he's having fun and playing golf or whatever. I hope he's in good health.
imagine a cgi 007 with connery voicing him.

you know, that gym fight scene at the beginning of never say never again was the film's highlight especially when 007 throws his urine in the guy's face.

but all throughout that film connery kept reminding me of a kind gentle Fred Astaire.

ya gotta love it when Q says "I hope we're going to have some gratuitous sex and violence" and connery replies...
"I certainly hope so too."

you know who would make a great silas marner?...
Patrick Stewart!

Another gem on Amazon Prime-- this is what I am watching at present: the richly atmospheric UNCLE SILAS.

Jean Simmons stars in the 1947 British drama based on the novel. Honestly, as the above picture suggests, I think Simmons would have made the perfect Scarlett O'Hara.
And then there's Katina Paxinou. When doesn't she try to steal the movie out from everyone else (and quite often succeed). Such a consistently memorable performer.

Don't miss UNCLE SILAS.
picture jean simmons saying "oh fiddle-dee-dee"

I agree! jean simmons was a lot more prettier than vivien leigh but I doan know.

some head on cnn called trump a political strongman akin to huey long. there's a fire. trump is pointing to it but his competitors woan even smell the smoke.
it is really quite simple. people are gettin' tired of the BS.
jobs gone and factories built elsewhere. people are feeling that they have taken this crap long enough.

LOL
Why don't ya ask a few of 'em if they'd like to go get some cheese steaks at that little Mom & Pop stand near Independence Hall?
I've been eating steak-umms on hoagie rolls with canola oil. yummy!

audio/video desyncronization? ain't no excuse for something like that from an outfit like tcm. none...
slackers!

I started too watch that but the thought of carl denham as a construction worker turned me off.

GREAT! Alan Arkin flicks and it's about time we pay tribute to such a fantastic talent BUT....
Where's Catch 22 ?!?
or for that matter, Escape From Sobibor.

William F. Buckley might not be considered quite so conservative today, just like Barry Goldwater. And if liberals seem the way you say, Jake -- please cut us a little slack. We (whatever religion we are) really believe in Christian values, we don't just wear our religion on our sleeve and spout political agendas that go against Jesus' teachings.
since when do liberals cut any slack to americans who still adhere to time-honored and long established religious-based views?
conservative-minded americans are constantly and relentlessly alluded to as oppressors and bigots and it has been a constant theme in the news media and Hollywood since the 1970s.

Classicsare4me--Hello, & welcome to the boards. I see from checking 'Broadway Babies" (1929? This is the right movie?) that it was a silent (has a credit for "Title writing"). I'd post in the "Silents" forum--click on "Forums" on your screen and scroll down till you see Silents. I'd also email TCM--they could point you in the right direction. UCLA Film Archive is another option you might consider talking with--sorry I can't be of more help.
maybe the UCLA film Archive oughta start a cable channel.

tcm doan show either Hatter's Castle or botany bay. the former with mason and Deborah kerr and the latter with mason and alan ladd.

"I see dust on the batcomputer!"

Already guessing the portrayal of Wayne will not be flattering.
today's Hollywood wouldn't diss the duke. they're fair.

-
NipkowDisc--according to TCM User Reviews, Caltiki the Immortal Monster was shown in 2010.
that is a surprise...have they shown it even one time since?
-
check out the IMDb. a new film about blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. it's got actors playing John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Edward G. Robinson in it. maybe it'll be fun.

-
Bava?.....
Hey! tcm has never shown caltiki the immortal monster, mario's blob movie.

-
am I to understand that it would be technically impossible to smilebox either 2001: a space odyssey or ice station zebra?
I sure do wish they'd try though.

-
You tell 'em nip-baby!
my bad...but you know what I meant. they HAVE NOT done justice to the whole of cinema...
and I bet you THIS. should tcm ever honor William Cameron Menzies, they will show the shorter and inferior US version of Invaders From Mars.
why?
because it will be a lot easier for tcm slackers to get the shorter inferior US print than the UK print.
even though the UK print is better, that will mean nothing to tcm.

-
at least that is what I call it. I noticed it with the opening credits. some almost unnoticeable frame-jumping. the moving truck on the highway with lon hitching a ride so he can roust hud. anyone other than myself notice the frame-jumping of the truck as it moves? it should be a smooth fluid movement but minute changes with the frame rate can cause, imperceptible to alotta people, this sort of anomaly.
-
it's tcm's fault because they never show Hot Spell(1958) or The Flame Barrier(1958) or the UK cut of William Cameron Menzies' Invaders From Mars....
and by failing to do so they have done full justice to the whole of American cinema...
slackers!

I would much rather it ended up helping someone better than Hillary - Elizabeth Warren would be far preferable and wouldn't lose the feminist vote - or Bernie Sanders who is a much better and more honest person than any Clinton. Even Joe would make a far better president for Americans than that lying snot.
But if it is Hillary it helps, so be it. At least she'll maybe nominate someone to the Supreme Court (if it comes up) who's not a total fascist. Maybe.
biden has butt-kissed Obama's incompetence all the way and that will hurt him.

-
Clinton perfect?
Puking now.
Hillary is incapable of relating to average people like a normal person. every time she opens her mouth to address anyone, she sounds like she's addressing a rotary club luncheon.
-
Not a film but an excellent miniseries I, Claudius (1976)
I wish TCM would show alotta mini-series' like Masada, Blind Ambition and and Washington: Behind Closed Doors BUT ...
that would no doubt be asking for too much.
might as well ask them for the expanded UK cut of William Cameron Menzies' Invaders From Mars.

Trump's Got 'Em Worried
in MOD REVIEW

so the guilty parties are George H. W. Bush, William Jefferson Clinton, George W. Bush and yes...Barack Obama and both the Republican and Democratic parties. all have tolerated nafta, gatt and it's decimation of our work force and manufacturing base. correct?
