How much do you want for your Hot Spell dvd?
Once TCM shows it, its value will plummit.
...not for sale.

-
a great moment from hot spell recreated...
Jack: "you're nothing but a dumb shirt-tailed kid! you're not as smart as me. you never will be as smart as me and that's a fact!"
Buddy: "I'm a man! and you treat me like a kid!

I think Hot Spell has aired quite a few times as last minute replacements. So last minute that it never made it into the online schedules that's all.
when???...
and how many times???
should be easy to be specific.

Hot Spell is around. I just watched it the other night. No idea if TCM has ever aired it. Shirley Booth is excellent again as the silly wife who's always talking about going back to some town when they were all happy. Anthony Quinn is a philandering husband, the "kids" are all grown and ready to leave. She'll be alone. So there's this "Trip to Bountiful" thing going on. Of course, you can't go home again. Amid the drama there's this very funny scene when breezy Eileen Heckart drops by and tries to jazz up Booth by teaching her to flirt by smoking cigarettes and drinking booze. Hysterical. The kids are played by Shirley MacLaine, Earl Holliman, Clint Kimbrough.
Maybe TCM can't get it because it was a Paramount release???
may I ask on what channel it was aired?

Later remade, without permission or credit, as the Star Trek episode "Balance of Terror":

yeah, they did that too with an episode of voyage to the bottom of the sea guest-starring Michael Ansara.
of course, vttbots co-star David Hedison was Mr. Ware in The Enemy Below.

Okay I'll try to reword it. TCM "may" or "may not" have started keeping an online database with their first transmission on day one. My reasoned guess is "not".
"I'm with the chief." -Chino (Lee Marvin)

that's what I would suppose. now, if someone can authoritatively prove beyond any doubt that hot spell has never aired on tcm then I will certainly reflect honestly on what evidence of that they can provide.
so until then I say hot spell aired on tcm numerous times more than ten years ago...
but why the disagreement about whether or not hot spell has ever aired on tcm?...
because if it ever did, that means for more than a whole decade now, tcm has ignored a significant film, and such great professed and expert cinema aficionados like tcm aren't supposed to do that...ignore cinema.

An Overview in the TCM database is not proof that a movie has aired on TCM.
BOOGIE NIGHTS also has an Overview but it's never aired on TCM.
http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/6058/Boogie-Nights/
HOT SPELL has no TCM article which stromgly suggests that it has never aired on TCM.
well, it was either tcm or amc or both.

didn't like The Hunters much at all, Powell was trying to channel James Michener or something. always enjoy The Enemy Below and also watched Split Second and really enjoyed it. doesn't your heart just go out to Alexis Smith's character?
when murderous psycho Stephen MacNally finally gets the car unstuck and hightails it back to the ghost town and the bomb detonates, did anyone catch the car being blown away? good special effect.

hot spell had been posted on youtube (now removed) in nine parts. that file was sourced from a dvd from some low-budget distributor. another grab I made was a tvrip off some spanish-speaking cable channel (pelicula) with their logo in the lower right corner. another file I grabbed was a vistavision formatted webrip.
I probably did watch hot spell a number of times on amc but I also recall seeing it numerous times on tcm. maybe I'm wrong but to the best of my recollection hot spell has been shown on tcm.
my friends, you have heard earnest truthful testimony from me...
can you prove that it didn't happen! -criswell

I thought you had your own boat all ready to go...weren't you and the Duval family going to row up alongside the cruise ship and crash the party?

-
maybe somebody could ask about hot spell on the tcm classic cruise. surely bob and ben know of this film.

-
Nipkow,
You said you own a copy of the film. If it was sold by someone who copied it from a cable broadcast, does it have an AMC logo on it?
no.
-
documented proof that tcm knows this film exists.

-
It never has been broadcast on TCM. And yes, it did air on the old AMC.

more bullets for Rocco.

does the milland hallucination in lost weekend of the bat eating the mouse in the wall qualify as horror?
it scares the hell outta me.

-
any crime film set in NYC with shadowy late afternoon (especially in a tenement building) daytime lighting is film noir.

-
is that they reflect the dumbing down (especially morality-wise) of the contemporary western world. just go to IMDb and look at the upcoming film titles. you have to be a narcissistic smartphone-wielding millennial to even know what the films might even be about.
san andreas is the top box office grosser right now and it's nothing but cgi.

-
doan believe I've ever seen The Hunters. followed by the enjoyable perennial The Enemy Below with a battle of wills between Capt. Morell (mitchum) and Curt "Stromberg" Jurgens and of course that rousing Leigh Harline music.

-
doan forget about film armoir...
old b&w crime flicks with french furniture.

Rosie O'Donnell?

Was the actor a series regular or a guest star? Victor Jory appeared in an episode of "The Time Tunnel" and "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea". Fred Crane was in an episode of "Lost In Space".
you got it!
I was thinking of vttbots episode 'fires of death' with victor jory as alchemist Dr. Turner. -
name the Gone With The Wind actor who appeared on an Irwin Allen TV series.
