  1. History of the World Part 1 gets no respect being one of mel brooks' funniest hilarious pictures. it was savaged by Hollywood critics like siskel and ebert despite being loved by the movie-going public.

be guided by the public and not arrogant Hollywood elitists who really doan give a **** about what the public thinks.

How about JOHN McGIVER's accent?  Mid-Atlantic?  He was from Astoria, NY, I believe.

Also, one could go and watch Alfred Hitchcock's appearance on 'The Dick Cavett Show' in 1972.  It's on YouTube in its entirety if one would like to hear him speak.

    jonathan harris also from NYC.

It Took A Mind Like George Lucas to show oh you can do effects in space and not look like plane sets blowing up. I think Wizard Of Oz and The Ten Commandments were movies done before they should have been able too. The Pillar of file and parting the red sea. Still is something impressive to me. And Wizard Of Oz the Tornado scene and the Colors scene amazing for a 37 film. Im just not saying movies today and saying that film will be ground breaking moment to remember. Maybe then other then The Avengers 4 films. Not everything made in classic days hold up when watch them now. Some Of The Effects In Princess Bride comes to mind but really there budget wasnt very much.

the wizard of oz was 1939.

    :D

  4. modern Hollywood screwed the pooch with cgi. there is no more animation coming out of them because they sacrificed it for the expediency of fast track conveyor belt no talentism.

I have yet to see any cgi on a par with yesteryear's non-computerized sfx. they killed animation and most of their now gone creativity and all they have left is their relentless continuing greed and the millennial /generation x demographic which they have sacrificed everything for.

  5. I remember watching the commander one time. he was showing The Vampire's Coffin with German Robles and he made an observation that was exactly what I was thinking.

He remarked that he thought abel salazar looked like Danny Thomas.

I want to see the old dubbed in English version of The Black Pit of Dr. M, (Miserios de Ultratumba) but it's said to be lost. Great film with subtitles as well, but that dubbing job is priceless!

The fact that John Wayne was intimated by John Ford, who also ragged him about his lack of participation in WW2 and reduced him to tears on at least one occasion would not fit in with the image his worshippers have of him. Macho figures on pedestals don't cry......maybe Duke expected something more than mental cruelty from a friend.

  8. svenstupid is getting too repetitive with the same dam movies. Frankenstein again c'mon! now that they've shown the 2 seasons of The Invaders no more reason to watch me tv Saturdays.

why doesn't that silly jerk get a hold of the Mexican horror movies Commander USA used to show?

A TOTAL MESS OF A MOVIE!

I did not say the whole movie was great only that Duke to date is probably the best actor to play Genghis khan on the big screen. but it does have a few outstanding moments like Duke ripping the dress right offa susan hayward and who doesn't love it when she responds with a delightful "you mongol dog!"

    :)
